After a long, long wait, Ships of the French Arm is finally here and available on Drivethru;

This is a massive, 208 page book (available in hardback later this year!) that contains a veritable fleet of new ships for 2300AD, including everything from tiny drop pods to military-grade destroyers. Every ship is presented with its full range of statistics, 3D imagery, deck plans, its history and development, and a few choice comments from those in the French Arm who have seen it all.

This really is one of the best Traveller books we have done to date, and Ships of the French Arm is really worth a look.

I just downloaded the updated file (grabbed the original last week).

What's changed in the update please?

Ta!

Thanks Matt.

I'm a bit surprised to see no one has posted about the book, is 2300 that much of a niche?

I just finished reading it and really like.

LOTS of different designs showing different build ideas. Lots of player sized ships or ships they would likely encounter plus a couple of big boys to scare the pants off of them when they are trying to smuggle stuff on-world...

They use a slightly different format for the ship stats, which is a bit more fluid but usually runs more than one page and I found that the table formatting could get confusing when the same column was used for different purposes depending on what section you were reading in.

There were a few typos, but nothing earth-shattering.

Lots of nice little in-game descriptions of the vessels, several of the characters seem to have quite 'interesting' backgrounds.

If you are a 2300AD fan, this is a REALLY good book. Since the drive is unique to this setting, I don't know how useful it would to non-2300 people.

I really enjoyed it and felt it was well worth the money.

Full exterior and deck plans for each design.

The print version does not appear to be available for pre-order yet, any idea when it will be up?

It is just about to go to print now (just waiting for the special mask we use to do that matt/gloss finish on 2300AD hardbacks). And yes, latest version with corrections will be used for the print run!

I imagine we will see it early November.
