2300AD chargen questions

I've just moved from reading the book to rolling characters. A few questions so far, just from 1 character.

p.91, Hearts Option 1, roll 1 is "Persuasion." Again, no explanation or description, and it's not under Traits on p.104. Is this a level of the skill?

Similarly, under the Subdermacalc descriptions on p.123, there is a "Natural Compass feat", which sounds like a holdover from the d20 edition. That's not under the Traits, either, I presume that it might refer to the "Internal map" I just noticed on p.124?

pp.71-72, Heidelsheimat's colonists have the Thin Air DNAmod as standard, but the atmosphere on the UWP is 6, Standard, while the 2nd paragraph of the world description refers to its "low gravity and comparatively dense atmosphere...."

Skills are in the Traveller Core Rulebook in the Skills chapter (per the webstore page for 2300AD: "The Traveller Core Rulebook is required to play 2300AD.:

I have the core RB, but my point is: a) that the RB names the skill "Persuade," not "Persuasion" and b) that there is no text (that I can find) in 2300AD that says that the character is supposed to receive skill levels during Focus Options. I have not seen any other cases in the Focus Options where a character gets a level of skill, so this seems an odd case.

Several of the Traits are very similar to those of Chthonian stars.

I’m at work and don’t have any books handy (odd that) but I remember the compass one from CStars so Persuade my be like one from there as well.

Either that or it is a holdover from D20 which Colin missed.

Best person to answer is Colin.

Persuade (Persuasion) is indeed the odd one out. It is a skill, rather than a Trait. Anytime you see the word Feat, imagine it not there, and someone giving me a kick in the head. Though, in this case, the Traits and Focus material didn't come from d20 at all, so that may well have been some sort of brain-fart...
