Mongoose
I suspect sources are inconsistent.
Looking at Mongoose book 2 (p. 3):
2132 "first working starship"
2144 "first expedition to Alpha Centauri"
It's suggested there that Wolf 359 comes later as one of the non-ESA targets/
We don't have a settlement date for Nyotekundu (because it's outposts rather than colonies) but the old Nyotekundu Sourcebook says that it's first visited on the Pathfinder mission of 2141, most definitely ESA. I.e. they have the automated probe results from Alpha Centauri, and rather than following up with a crewed expedition, they sent that expedition (not automated probes) off in a different direction. (And while that book has the 2300AD trade dress, it refers to "Traveller: 2300" internally, which suggests it was caught on the first/second edition boundary.)
Obviously I can just ignore the date in Nyotekundu but has anyone looked into this sequence of events further? (Yes, obviously I'm integrating this with some events in Bayern, no spoilers here but you'll know the ones I mean.)
