2300 AD 2nd edition or 1st edition?

Kravell

Mongoose
I really enjoy Traveller but I want to run 2300 AD next. Is the 2nd edition to go with the new playtest rules a long way off? Would I be better off getting the 1E High Guard and Vehicles?

I want to support the 2nd edition, but I haven't seen 2300 AD mentioned anywhere for new publications next year, either an update or the American arm both of which I'm really interested in. Hoping I can find some direction by asking here.

2300AD right now is a fork of 1st edition, the core book is necessary. But pretty much it is self contained to its line. Not that some of the Core 1stEd Traveller books would hurt, just there differences.

The chief developer of 2300AD (Colin Dunn) has been involved with Traveller 2e from the very start. Work is indeed starting on the changes needed to bring 2300AD up to spec with the new rules.

Thanks for the quick reply. That is good news!

Sounds good. I look forward to adding this to my collection.

Me too! Wait...

I guess that means I have to write it.

30% complete on the Core book, 80% complete on the Aerospace Engineer's Handbook. Work underway on the new intro adventure.

Will this involve replacing the 2300AD main book?

I would hope that those who bought the original would get the same thing as when the revised 1st came out:

Send in a photo with the book to prove you bought it and get a PDF.

I've got two copies of the first edition. If the second edition came out as a hardback I would definitely buy it.
