20 Ton Launch/Lifeboat [Cepheus/SRD]

This MCr.4 small craft design is a result of the thread titled What real use are escape pods?
Having determined that a bog standard escape pod was not going to cure what ails us and after reading everyone's input I knocked together this design.

It can accommodate 1 pilot, 20 passengers in accelerator couches and 20 people in Emergency popcycle holders and a little over 1 ton of cargo space for supplies. The E. Low berths are easy to remove to add 5 tons of additional cargo space when needed.

For empty hex evacuation one would only put 20 people aboard in the Emergency low berths.
At all other times it can be used as an aux. small craft for the ship.

For the purpose of this case, the Launch inthe CRB or HG will suffice.

I think there a shuttle and cargo version. Though maybe thats the shuttle?
But this is just a parasite craft that you're suppose to ignore, taking up tonnage, making jump more expensive. Why not have parasite craft which you can utilized and then still leave the ship in the very polite disaster thats allowing to leave.

LMAO! A 20 ton Small craft Carrying 20+ people and cargo is "parasitic"? I think finishing 3rd grade before posting again is advisable.

Parasite craft isnt bad term. If you google it. Its parasite aircraft.
Though suppose its not heavily used in Traveller parlance. Its nother term for subcraft.

And yea, I mistook the acceleration seats as not general passenger accommodation. The launch from HG is just cabin space. So I thought it was distinctive special purpose vehicle.
So you made a lunach with cryo berths?

The Automated Lifeboat from SCC is 5 tons, carries 16 people. Or fit it with 4 MixCorp Emergency AutoBerths and you can carry 20.
For a working craft with some emergency low berths, 20 tons, a Lifeboat pinnace would work. You replace some of the cargo space with emergency low berths, 4 tons gives you 12 slots and 8 passengers+ 3 crew can ride it outside the berths. Leaves you with 11 tons of cargo space.

Thats thin margin for a working boat.
But is still a working boat and does multiple duty. Now if always visit systems with decent traffic and rescue services available, a 10 launch is fine, as you can just pack everyone into the cargo bay for a day or two. But if you're more adventurous, then the lifeboat pinnace is about compromise I can think of.

Also for what its worth, I actually repeated the 3rd grade. I'm rather dyslexic, and I didnt have the ability to read at what my peers could. My mom forced the school, Longfellow Elementary Pasadena California, to repeat the 3rd grade. They compromised in a 3rd/4th grade split classroom. That summer was really uh, rememberable.

For a working craft with some emergency low berths, 20 tons,
This is what I just posted. It's a ship's launch which is primarily for moving people.

Yes, I'm sure. But the rules in use for this are not that. There are so many Trav versions I always specify in the title of the post which one I'm designing for.
