It's just one of the ideas about Dark Energy/Matter/Gravity/whatever. There isn't a real consensus about this, though most scientists seem to be favouring Dark Matter rather than modified gravity.

You can't have seen any of the good Star Trek fan shows then. Spinward Traveller looks terribly amateur to me, the Star Trek shows I would call at least 'semi-professional' in quality.

The length of a time that a game is around for has nothing to do with its quality. A suggestion for you though - perhaps you could consider enjoying Traveller while not sneering at other RPGs?

T5's almost-instantaneously successful funding is a prime example of how blindly funding something can still produce a really bad product. Unfortunately a good chunk of the Traveller fanbase isn't particularly discerning about the material they acquire. Maybe people have learned their lesson...
