I beleive he refers to the fact that only the races described as being 'illiterate' are unable to read or write. Races not so described are able to read and write at least their own language, if not all those that they speak. I think that info will be found in the section dealing with races and...

I love Vincents work, especially Across the Thunder River, so I voted yes; but at the same time I'd like to see work from other authors as well. Diverse interpretation is, and always has been, part of the Hyborian setting, and that same diversity makes the RPG just as interesting and colorful.

The REH stories Hawks Over Shem and Black Colossus contain some good material about Shem and its peoples. They can both be found in Conan the Freebooter. :wink:

I have to go for the AD&D mega-campaign series: G1-3, D1-3, and Q1, better known as the Giant/Drow series. IMHO, there's never been anything better as far as a published linked adventure series.

Looks like it has potential. Rose McGowan with blood-red hair, clad in a tight chainmail halter-top and licking a gore-slicked blade has an appeal all its own! :twisted: We can only hope that its better than the Nielsen/ Schwarzenegger travesty of the '80s....... :evil:

I'm an Army vet and have a special love for the woods, nature, and animals. I shun civilization and urban life for the most part, but I know it has it's purpose and use, and also that it needs to be defended. I think I would find my niche as a Borderer.
