I don't know...GURPS Traveller (Star Mercs page 23) states that one of the rules of war is respect for sophont's rights. So while it may not require the Imperium to intervene, it would give them a justification to if they felt the urge.

Probably still gut it. Even the biggest battleships aren't big enough to absorb a nuclear blast in the middle of their lightly armored interior hull. Even the smallest nuke detonated on a Tigress would probably leave it crippled. As for rules, though, I got nothing

Avatar has VTOLS vs. flying aliens, which gives at least some indication of how it might look. I can't think of other helicopter scenes that would be helpful. As for my grav drives, I always assumed they only provided lift, thrust would be provided by separate, conventional, engines.

For #1), BP, I was the under the impression that since Lance Corporal gave Gun Combat 1, it would ONLY give you rank 1, it would not let you increase your rank 1 to a 2. See rulebook page eight, under the skill and training examples.

They're scifi miniature wargames (Dirtside is battalion, Stargrunt is squad based). It's got a very Traveller-esque feel. Full Thrust is the space battle game, which is still reasonably Traveller-y. I think GZG gives Dirtside II and Full Thrust out for free as pdfs on their website. Dig around...

I think it would be pretty awesome. I love Dirtside and Stargrunt, even if I could rarely pull my group away from WH40k. I can't imagine it being a difficult conversion...GZG always had pretty Traveller-esque vibes going on. But yeah...I would be exceedingly interested.

Yeah. I was browsing this thread to help give me ideas to keep my semi-traveller ground pounders in business once someone pointed out the destructive (and accurate) powers of ortillery. I suppose (Hammers universe or otherwise) massive amounts of decoys spread with the drop pods and troopships...

In that same vein, though, orbital ships can easily hit ground targets. Also, if powerguns are that accurate and powerful, how can you ever land on an enemy planet with reasonable defenses?
