Classic Traveller to Come to TAS

Matt, I think that adding CT to the TAS program would be fantastic. I like the idea of some consistency guidelines for the covers to help identify CT content, too.

    What's YOUR Core Rulebook Reboot?

Yeah, full color or not is something I've gone back and forth on in my own mind. I like the rules themselves printed on non-glossy pages. But I'd be good with it if the pages themselves aren't too glossy. After all, most of the trade journals I read for hours and hours each week are full color...

    What's YOUR Core Rulebook Reboot?

So we're about halfway through Mongoose's Traveller license period. Hard to believe it's been that long already! While T5 is getting a lot of eyeballs right now, based on my own experience with it so far (I'm in the beta), I expect that MGT is going to be my core rule set for the foreseeable...

    Link error on main website?

The link for Hammer's Slammers under the RPGs>Traveller menus took me to the Star Fleet UK Tournament Ticket page: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/star-fleet-uk-tournament-ticket-apr-28th.html rather than: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/hammers-slammers.html Fortunately, site search got...

Help with totalling AU between worlds

Here's a quick and dirty way to get a WAG that may be good enough for you: Add the average orbital distances of the two bodies. That's your transfer orbit diameter (d). You'll travel half its circumference, pretend it's a circle, not an ellipse: 1/2*PI*d. Trim it a tad if you like, maybe use 3...

    The Great Traveller Clean-Up!

Core Rule Book, page 143 "Sensors" lists Visual and Thermal among the sensor types. It references a table on page 108, under Spacecraft Design, Electronics, that does not include Visual or Thermal sensors among the types listed. This isn't dealt with in the current player's guide, either.

Is Traveller on the shelves in your FLGS?

My great little FLGS has it on their shelves: Ship it! Games The front half of the store is shipping and parcel service, the back half is gaming. This is where I bought all my Mongoose stuff (Traveller and the RQ core book) except for Beltstrike, which came from Mongoose for free...

    Warp Ships

Just as a point of reference on warp, for ST the warp number is said to be the cube root of how many times faster than light you're travelling. This would give us: Warp 6=216c=~5.5 days/pc Warp 8=512c=~2.3 days/pc Warp 9=729c=~1.6 days/pc FWIW

Using 1,001 Characters and 760 Patrons

I use them as seeds for characters added to the game. The key characters for he adventure are usually already fleshed out (hopefully) based on the role they play. But there are a lot of other characters that may crop up. I use these books to get a starting point for the additional characters...

Pandora - Children in Traveller ?

The game I wanted but never got: Three Investigators, the RPG. With modern, SF, medieval and bronze age settings. 3I should mean Three Investigators. :D Jupe wins the use of a space yacht and a Pilot-4 for a year...

Pandora - Children in Traveller ?

I've used the technique of running a prelude adventure with the characters as children many times. It's always worked out great--it gives the players a great opportunity to define their characters and build bonds that affect the adult characters. Better than connection rolls (in fact, when I do...
