Traditionally, a druid works from an oral tradition and prefers 'oral maps' carried in their heads and recited as needed. Such maps use obscure theological and astrological references (things druids knew well) adding to a druid's ability to spout gibberish like it means something. Of course it...
And let's not forget the Drive and Summon skills that need to be struck off... liked the Ultimate Char. Sheet but for one thing.
Wayyyyyyy toooooooo biiiiiigggggg...
Perhaps a 2 sheet is the way to go.
Sure scanning will happen anyway! Yes, someone can scan something in but it doesn't take quite as long to copy a file if it's in electronic format already. Method isn't important, what matters is that it is happening!
Piracy is an issue is when your revenue comes primarily from providing...
I think there does have to be encouragement for people to do the little armour and much frothing but I'm wondering if DR is the solution especially when thinking about things like the Gaesetae prestige class AC bonus and so forth. This kind of defensive skill is not easily gained.
There is...
In principle, the idea is a good one - downloadable PDFs and e-books are a very easy, low-cost solution for providing material. There are a couple of caveats which need to be provided.
1. Piracy is a problem. Without some kind of licensing key (and the associated administration), it means...
A few more - the perfect antidote to a bad day this...
"My sword wants a drink. You'll do fine..."
"I've eaten chickens with more meat on them!"
"I see your dwarf has looks for you both..."
"Your stench exceeds your sword-arm!"
"You're as smart as a bull and as strong as a fox."
"Weaned on...
A few more...
"Flee before me or know what all dead men know!"
"You talk a good fight - but fail to impress!"
"Are all of your kin as milk-blooded?"
"At least you die by a warrior's hand!"
"Morrigu demands tribute. Time to pay."
"Your face - my axe!"
"Spital hut? Nay, the narrow house for...
So maybe, just maybe we need to do something about it?
From a Slaine fan site perspective, there ain't much out there. That I can find more on the Slaine computer game than the RPG (once you get past the game shop catalogue pages) bothers me. If I'm not mistaken, the one I'm working on will...
Actually chaps I think the material that's come out is good, just think that perhaps Horned God wasn't the best choice for a beginning scenario - even if I agree with the choices they made in that scenario.
Problem is, Slaine's a slow cooker and people are used to seeing product hit the shelves...
Tales & legends - there's a lot of stuff out there which I'd just be copying unless I'm going to convert them into adventure seeds, it's just going to be easy plagiarism. Brief encounters and full-on scenarios are something for the future though.
On the maps issue - does anyone have some ideas...
Slaine web site.
I have more stuff than I can code in the time available.
What do people want to see first?
Feats?
NPCs?
*sharp intake o' breath*
Prestige classes based on some of the character options?
Downloads of some kind?
More equipment?
Building types and pictures?
Interesting...
Ah! Haven't seen the Robin Hood strips yet. I'd always imagined the dwarves to be slightly more along the lines of Alberich or Fafnir in the Ring Cycle - crafty, dodgy, untrustworthy but phenomenal craftsmen. Add to this certain prehistoric tin mining legends around Cornwall...
Mind you the...
