Just noticed that the prices of both Chasm of Doom and Shadow on the Sand have both been set at £12.
Any particular reason for doing this? I consider a 20% increase in price rather large
The binding on my copy has split at the random number table. The majority of the binding is still attached at the front, with the combat results table intact at the back.
No pages have fallen out as yet, thankfully
<TUT> And this is the direction of the New Order Kai??? It almost makes me want to go over and see what those NAK guys are doing.
:mumble: probably having all-night parties (and I've heard them Nadziranim can work wonders with their shape-changing..), and DEFINATELY no early morning classes in...
Therein lies the problem, I don't think FotW will be much different. :(
FftD is now 450 pages, whereas FotW is at 320 pages (with, purportedly, a mini-adventure in there too).
This suggests that book 2 is of same length as the original. There may be changes, but I can't see how there could be...
I just hope I get to use my three 'new' Backpack items in later books:
1/2: Kai Crystals - didn't use either at the beacon
3: Fire Flask - didn't use that on Vurnos (but do I actually get a choice? there's no penalty for not using it, and no advantage for using it, and decided to keep it in...
In defence of MGP...
1. the guys are manufacturing all (I believe) their merchandise in-house.
2. as far as publishing 'houses' go, MGP is comparitively tiny. A fact that I did not appreciate until my visit.
3. MGP have a large protfolio for their size, which is not limited to the Lone Wolf...
So, what's gonna happen in CoD? I thought Madelon was the name of the Baron's daughter? Are we gonna have to save this new Madelon now, and she becomes (as has been discussed at length elsewhere) the love interest of our hero?
There was a certain item that would have proven of great use in FotW had I been allowed to keep it, also a couple of, imo, powerful items that would also be of use later.
RD - trying to be as obtuse as possible
'kin hell!!!
Amazing stuff and was not expecting that last bit one iota.
One slight thing I had with the book - there was possibly too much detail he was trying to include. But this has probably something to do with the way I liked the fast pace of the original.
My Beaver copy of JoH has been used so much the 'inside' page of the Combat Results Table has fallen out! I've still got it, but I'm unsure whether to tape it back in place. Might sound strange, but I've got a block as far as it's concerned and just can't bring myself round to the idea.
From what I've read so far (up to LW lighting the beacon), I am impressed with the change of beginning.
I still love the original idea of "the worst student can shine given a chance", but am definately amazed with the detail of the monastery which you didn't get with the old version.
