ACTA: SF Klingon Dreadnought conversion - WIP

The band that wraps around the front of the nacelles is the Disruptor Banks. Maybe you can leave that bit off it won't hurt anything. Not my cup of tea but definatly an interesting kit bash.

News on A Call to Arms: Star Fleet!

ADB already sells a 4 Sensor Dish Spur as a extra for the 2400 to make scout conversions so yes there is evidence to support it will sell.

Acta:SF Drone Question seeking ignore shields yes or no

Accurate Traits are still added in. Phaser 1s kill drones on a 2+ and Phaser 2s or 3s kill drones on a 3+. The Key is it does not expressly say you can not use Weapon Traits in Defensive Fire. If you are lined up pointing directly at each other you get to use both sets of phaser. For Example a...

    [ACTA:SF] Discussion: taming the Klingons

Which Klingon ships have you played with? Removing Agility from the D6 and D7 makes them sitting ducks.By doing that you are going to find that they will need their shields boosted just to compete. As far as the D5 and D5W yes pulling their Agility does tame them down quite abit but it is not as...

Acta:SF Drone Question seeking ignore shields yes or no

No Problem at all because everyone uses phasers. There is actually a argument that can be made for Precise Phaser in that they are one of the few weapon systems in Fed Com that can use targeted damage allocation.

Acta:SF Drone Question seeking ignore shields yes or no

Close enough. In the other rule set a scout can make 2 AD of Drones from a single ship to just go away.

    Best way to start?

Let's wait and see if there is some kind of new starter kit. Right now the only thing not coming back seems to be Fleet Box which means there probably will still be some kind of Squadron Box.

Dumb question about ACTA:SF and Drones + Plasmas

Well the obvious is play balance. But if you want to dig deeper Drones and Plasma use two cometely different guidance methods in the Star Fleet Universe. Plasmas are truly self guiding. Before they leave the launch tube the firing ship has to archive a lockon to target. It then downloads that...

    Rules questions (Errata?)

This one is answered in the FAQ. Table is right example is wrong. A ship with a Stealth Score of 4+ when detected would increase its save to 5+ making it easier to hit. l never liked the way that was worded. I just sounds wrong but it is technically worded right. Now that I said that you can...

Acta:SF Drone Question seeking ignore shields yes or no

Correct. Phaser have the Precise Weapon Trait. This allows them to add one (+1) to the rolls on the hit table. This means a 1 which is a Bulkhead Hit (or no damage) becomes a 2 which is a solid hull hit. It also makes a roll of 5 (a solid hit) become a 6 which is a Critical Hit.

Acta:SF Drone Question seeking ignore shields yes or no

Drones and Plasmas never get to use the natural "six" burn through rule, even though Drones roll for a lock on at long ranges. Seeking Weapons will always strike the shields first then only damage the hull once the shields are completely gone.

    No SFB releases pending?

Skip down to Sun the 8th and start reading with Jean's post. http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=56671 Star Fleet is not dead its merely resting while it has the chance.

[ACTA:SF] Looking for some fighter rules

One thing to keep in mind the Fighter rules as well as Boarding Party combat will probably be direct ports from NA. Also just out of curiosity are you the one who sniped the Feds from me?

[ACTA:SF] Looking for some fighter rules

Yep no DEs yet because there are no DDs in the 2500 series. Also so far no FFEs or FBEs but those there are models for. What should make your blood run cold would be a NAC or the Escort version of a NCA.

    base sizes?

Ian is correct don"t worry about rebasing just to try the game out. But, he is wrong in that base size doesn't matter because technically base to base contact is the closest 2 ships can be.
