is would take forever to kill a volorn heavy cruiser if you halved damage and still had to do 100 damage with it on self repair 2D6, they would be unkillable unless you fired everything in your fleet at one heavy cruiser for 2 turns you might scratch it while you got...

I cant think why EA would want to boresight and CAF anyway (they tend to get large amounts of fire from each arc)
I agree with Wulf the disadvantage to CAF is the limit of 1 arc. This is a huge disadvantage to some races Some fleets would lose huge amounts of firepower even if still shooting...
why not change the advance jump point rule slightly.
If you made it that the advance jump point system on board a ship has a safety feature preventing opening too close to the enemy then you can prevent intentional jump sniping.
Change the rule for AJP so that you cannot open a jump gate...
