So your answer is to cripple the telepaths abilities? Why not just give normals extra kit, or give the teeps social penalties for using their powers. Also, if you're more concerned with making everything balanced, than sticking to the setting, why are you even playing B5? Go get d20 Future. Jeez.

Well, I haven't tried it myself, but it seems reasonable as written. Bear in mind that the series establishes that "Normals" can't withstand a telepath at all. The only possible modification I'd make, is to add your own P-rating to the save when trying to resist.

So, if I'm understanding correctly, the Revised aCtA set gives enough counters to give most of the fleets a good workout, and can be augmented easily with a couple of the teh otehr sets that provide rules and/or counters. The minis, while very pretty, essentially don't add anything to the game...

That's more or less right. What we don't have though, is a definitive answer on how much material gets ejected by a Nova. Taking our own solar system as an example, but assuming Sol was large enough to go Nova naturally, we'd probably see Mercury vapourised, Venus would lose all it's atmosphere...

I think the title says it all really. What sort of collection would I need to build up to start being able to play? Also, as this is almost certainly different, how much would I need to start being competitive?

I assume you mean the only non-human race should be the Minbari. If so, I'd agree with you. It wasn't until the formation of the ISA that the other races were allowed in, and obviously they needed to train before being able to do anything. Humans, on the other hand, were regularly seen doing...

The problem is that the comparison "fluff" will only really be useful to anyone interested in the conversion process itself, whereas the "crunch", which we don't yet have, will be useful to anyone who has both 1st & 2nd ed stuff, which is most people, by now.

Well The Gathering indicates that even the small amount of inertia generated by the comparatively small explosion at the end put serious stress on the structure. Plus, to be honest, I'm not convinced B5 could fit in the jump gate.

How odd. Mine arrived a week ago, having taken about 10 days to arrive. A guy at work was the same, although he ordered his much quicker than I did.
