These are the House Rules we used when I ran the first edition of B5, it might help you in some way. I haven't taken a look at the Second Edition situation for teeps yet (since I'm not running it just now).

You don't get XP for killing things in B5.
They have however forgotten to take into account higher level characters. They have assigned fixed values, but I would be tempted to apply a multiplier based on level.
I haven't actually run 2nd edition yet, I'm currently running a Midnight game.
But in 1st ed, I used a slightly more streamlined system where if it seemed right then it works. That and we just assumed that everyone was on the same "elevation" for the purposes of the map.
But still using a lot...
If B5 were in danger of decompression because of a small slug, it's not space worthy. There are many more dangerous things zipping through space (i.e. micro-meteorites).
it's the size of the hyperion vs the size of the target. The operator just pushes the button. If however, he whipped out his trusty bowie knife and jumped out into space to stab the target, it would be the size of the operator that you would use.
