    Solomani are missing Uplifted species

For inspiration, there are a few great sci-fi novels on uplifted octopuses: Adrian Tchaikovsky's Children of Ruin, and Ray Nayler's The Mountain in the Sea. Children of Ruin is the second part of a trilogy. It's third part, Children of Memory, features uplifted corvids.

    Signals from the Core Podcast

Technically, the Moot is supreme in the Imperium, but its power is extremely limited. In practice, its deliberations are advisory to the emperor, and he is wise to heed them. The Moot has only one power: to dissolve the Imperium. When this power is brought to bear, it compels compromise between...

    K’Kree Invasion?

I believe this is more along the lines of what we have in mind. But the invasion narrative is interesting!

    K’Kree Invasion?

The Julians would probably even get involved at some point. After all, they're G'naak, too, and with no Imperial buffer zone... ☠️

    K’Kree Invasion?

Their "leather" is made of hemp. :D A major exploration of the K'kree would be a lot of fun. Of course, so would one of the Vargr and Hivers, akin to what Randy Dorman has done with the Aslan.

lol "theatre kid approach". Great feedback. (y) We probably won't muck with it. Just exploring options. Initiative works fine in Traveller and probably does not need an adjustment. I agree that it's not a problem at the table. It's before that when it might be a problem: when people are...

No danger of that. Despite the various controversies about it, I'm a big SOC fan. I call for it all the time in my games, to the chagrin of those players who made it their dump stat. :devilish:

    2300AD - A suggestion

A few off-the-cuff ideas: Task Difficulty: It adds color, which is fun, but could we nix it and just make 8+ the target for everything with negative DMs to reflect added difficulty. Just shotgunning that out there without thinking of the implications. Slots instead of kg for gear. You can carry...

    2300AD - A suggestion

This comment might be better suited to a completely different thread, but what does everyone think of the current movement to produce simpler rule systems? For example, Shadowdark as the completely stripped-down, rules-light version of D&D. I think of our audience here as probably opposed to the...

Armies of the Fifth Frontier War, Impressions Not Errata

True, but escape from a place that's about to get smashed might make for an exciting scenario.

Armies of the Fifth Frontier War, Impressions Not Errata

For a fictional description of how devastating orbital bombardment might be, refer to Neal Stephenson's Seveneves. The Moon gets broken up and its shards come tumbling into the Earth's atmosphere. I'm not sure how if that's exactly how it would play out, but knowing what I know of Stephenson...

Armies of the Fifth Frontier War, Impressions Not Errata

Late to this discussion, and I predict my views won't be popular based on what I've seen thus far, but here goes. The Imperial Army is standardized at TL12, which is "Average lmperial," and reflects the median of Imperial worlds. As such, the gear is easier to come by, less expensive, easier to...
