It can't have had too much inspiration. Not unless the game was was thought up, play tested, sent to a publisher, printed, and then sent to stores, all in the 2 months between their release dates. Edit: Apologies, didn't notice Sig and pointed out same thing.

From the perspective of an (arthritic ex-)archer, my hit ratio was surprisingly unaffected by the size of the centre dot I'm aiming at. If I miss, I tend to be no where near the bullseye. It comes from the way you actually aim, i.e.you're aiming at the smallest possible thing you can see...not...

Good point. I guess a lot of the flavour I was trying to add with them are already baked in with things like aiming over several rounds etc. That said, TL10 cloth really needs to be a little heavier, or at least just give +7 Protection. Since that perfectly describes my dog, I just use him as a model for understanding Vargr. With this in mind, its clear that they pirate other peoples ships not for profit, but because they love being chased by the authorities after the fact.

I have no debate with having a cost for a dedicated docking space. My point about showing how much cheaper an alternate system could be, was more to point out that the cost was just too high. For playability, I'd much rather just abstract down to 'docking space', rather than having to design...

Going back to the Torpedo/Missile miss-match, I find doubling the effect from the attack roll before multiplying for salvo size, gives results closer to what one would expect. Kind of a sloppy patch, but it does the trick from a gameplay perspective.

Really, unless you're dealing with reaction drives, you'd only need 1 ton of UNREP max for 10 light fighters. If you create an entire airlock, 10% larger than the craft you want to contain, I think it's fair to allow for the extra 10% to include your fuelling apparatus for free. So to simplify...
