    Wanted: Deckplans!

Fovean, You're too kind :-D rcbecker1, Mostly 3DS Max then photoshop. Beginning to wish I had Illustrator - I'm thinking of moving to a vector package in future. Might try using inkscape or the app that comes with Open Office.

    Wanted: Deckplans!

I did the plans. I tried to maintain the 'feel' of those old illustrations from the original GDW edition. Maybe I misidentified the Sundowner's original illustration. :-(

Question about the Dilettante book, or errata if....

...in fact it may be one of my maps, I've submitted some ship designs / maps for that publication. If this is the case I'd be happy to gather together the interior descriptions and make the available in a PDF, providing Mongoose are happy for me to do so.

    100-ton Solo Yacht

That would be Photoshop, although any image editing software that supports layers will do the job. Method is more important than what tool you use.

    100-ton Solo Yacht

Thanks BP, all good spots. As I said, this was a draft, I don't have time to complete. Errors on the stats sheet are down to me carrying text from my construction spreadsheet to the Mongoose style layout. I should re-engineer my spreadsheet to produce an output table that matches the Mongoose...

    100-ton Solo Yacht

Thanks to all for your comments. Golan2072, you're absolutely right. I must have missed the detail about skill-based programs. I'll incorporate them into the eventual print version.

    100-ton Solo Yacht

Designed to allow an individual to ply the spacelanes unaided. Some consider it a sport, others a way of life. I've not had any time for Traveller since starting my new job, this is the draft (complete but unrefined) version of the first ship in my long-in-production Traveller module "7-ships"...

    Space Station floorplans

Hi Paladin, and thanks. I was planning on doing "The skyrig incicent" as a OGL adventure. Alas, I got bogged down on the adventure and moved on, leaving only rough notes on the layout. I could only find these few details to support the plans: Deck 1 - Command 1. Operations 2. Meeting Room 3...

    Space Station floorplans

That's very slick indeed! I did an experimental gas mining station, to be used as part of a homage to the first Traveller adventure I played, called "Sky Rig". available here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucasdigital/3338136048/sizes/o/in/set-72157614799771385/ I'm going to be building and...

    A Traveller Handout

Excellent work! Nice balance between details and broad brush strokes. Very slick handling too.

    Scooping from a gas giant

The beanstalk is just a pipe, very small relative to the tether, which might need to be a fair sized asteroid. While it's definitely more fanciful than a moon based beanstalk there'd be little justification in installing one on a small moon because the escape velocity would be so small. I...

    What are Your Worlds Missing?

Facinating article Marchand, many thanks. The image of a forest or jungle of jet coloured fauna is doing my head in. :-D

    Scooping from a gas giant

As well as floating refinaries, you could use orbital refinaries that are much like beanstalks, without the ground tether. Here's one I depicated from Pete F. Hamilton's Night's Dawn Trilogy -...

    What are Your Worlds Missing?

I absolutely agree. Travellers table based systems are supposed to underpin your ideas with a realistic basis, though too many referees forget to add the necessary flesh. The 2300ad supplement 'Aurora Sourcebook' is probably the finest example of an RPG alien world, well worth picking up just...

Reaction Drive Campaign - New Ship Designs

Very cool, would look right at home in 2300A.D. I'd have the fuel compartment behind the spin habitat for added shielding from the reactor, plus you'd not need to pump fuel through the spindle. Still, it's nice to see people using Traveller to underpin their OTUs.
