    Supplement 8: Power Armour

It's worth noting that this is a book about Power Armour rather than full fledged combat mechs. Stuff like the Marauders from Starship Troopers, the fighting suits from Forever War, or Elementals in BattleTech; and yes, Anime and Manga designs like the Hardsuits from Bubblegum crisis, Landmates...

    Supplement 8: Power Armour

Heavy Gear's look and feel is based on an anime called Armoured Trooper VOTOMS (which TC meantioned too)

    Alastair Reynolds

I run hot and cold on Reynold's books - though I've read everything he's done bar Zima Blue. I agree with Horus that his endings often leave a lot to be desired - I felt all the initial Revelation Space books bar Chasm city ended far too abruptly or inconclusively, and House of Suns fell into...

    A WaW Project Log

Those are amazing minis for a first attempt. The colours are crisp and well-separated. My only advice would be to consider a black wash for the faces and hands - water down some black paint and pay it on the area so it seeps into the cracks, and it'll bring out the detail more.

    Traveller Mech?

I was being slightly facetios for the sake of humour, but the look of the JC universe always interested me. But nowhere over here has ever stocked it. I may have to take a look online for some books, and check it out.

    Modern Combat, next stage?

there was talk of a more detailed sourcebook for doing small unit actions, which I've been looking forward to.

Top 3 science fiction novels you've read

rather than pick my three favourite, i've decided to pick three that have influenced my reading habits more than anything else: Cyberpunk: Neuromancer by William gibson Military SF: the BattleTech novels, but the major shout out goes to Wolves on the Border by Robert Charette, which is one of...

    Traveller Mech?

It's a Simpsons reference. Grampa is sitting at the table bemoaning how nobody listens to the old, Lisa is similarly lamenting how nobody listens to the young, and then Homer walks in saying "I'm a male aged 18-42, everybody listens to me!", reaches into the cupboard for a tin that says NUTS...

I just don't get Lethal Zones.

Yeah, it's basically a template weapon renamed for some reason...

    Transhuman Traveller

The modular nature of Traveller means you don't need to makeover the entire rulebook, just put out a transhuman sourcebook. The core book is pretty much meant to be "the future of the 70s", much like Cyberpunk was "the future of the 80s" And I've been reading the Eclipse Phase rulebook - it's...

I just don't get Lethal Zones.

not quite, you centre the lethal zone on the target, and the target and everything else in the LZ's area gets a seperate roll equal to the weapon's Attack Dice. So in the example above the target gets 2D6 rolled against it, and so does every other model witin 2"

    Traveller Mech?

Well, it depends on the pop music really. Though Macross Plus and Frontier both have amazing soundtracks on both the pop songs and orchestral sides of things.

    Traveller Mech?

Mecha and pop music go together like nuts and gum! (and I don't really like MacrossWorld. Too much bitterness towards Robotech)

    Traveller Mech?

I'd rather listen to Sheryl's song than Basara's any day!
