    State of the Mongoose 2025

OR selling the Core Rulebook and a setting book together for a discounted price?

    State of the Mongoose 2025

Yes, quick start rules and an adventures (and vignettes) booklet would work better.

    State of the Mongoose 2025

Well, you could get existing Traveller gamers and their Referees to demo Traveller in local games clubs and games shops etc. Some kind of support for that activity would be helpful and I'm not sure what. Probably something to hand out to new players - a PDF of the Traveller Explorer's Edition...

How many more books are planned for FFW?

Thank you, that is good advice. With the current batch of adventures, I started off handwriting notes but now I'm using LibreOffice Writer and Draw for session prep and also writing up what happened during the adventure.

How many more books are planned for FFW?

Fascinating! That is a lot of work. I, too, have Pirates of Drinax and am impressed with it. I don't know where to get started, but, I figure that after running sufficient Mongoose Traveller adventure modules, I'll have a better idea of what I need to create to focus on a single sector.

How many more books are planned for FFW?

PMFJI... I'm still at the stage at needing Mongoose to spoon-feed me adventures. I recently ran "Search and Rescue" from "The Marches Adventures" and managed to create the space station schematic, incidental encounters, and map OK - the game went well. But earlier this year I completely fluffed...

    Broadening someone's sci-fi horizons

    1. I came up with some vignettes as additional encounters for when I ran "Search and Rescue" at the weekend. 2. Thanks for the Jerry Pournelle recommendation.

    Broadening someone's sci-fi horizons

Well, I prepare for the gaming session by repeatedly reading the module, making notes to "run" the game from - but not as a flow chart. It is quite focussed in that the module presents the players with a goal. There are 4 players - Sally (no TTRPG experience), Alan (a wargamer at squad level)...

    Broadening someone's sci-fi horizons

We've played the the modules "High And Dry", "Mission to Mithril", and "Search and Rescue" from The Marches Adventures 1-5 and will likely play the other 2 modules. Due to time shortages, it takes me about a month and a half in real time to get to grips with a module and make notes and flesh out...

    Broadening someone's sci-fi horizons

Interesting. I have 4 issues of Far Trader (on TBR pile) and 2 issues of Rift Breaker (also TBR). I've briefly looked at the other Traveller fiction books but I haven't seen and reviews.

    Broadening someone's sci-fi horizons

She is middle-aged. Does not like TV programmes - does not own a TV. Time is of the essence - she is working full time and studying part time as well. Maybe some short stories would be a good idea. Got any recommendations?

    Broadening someone's sci-fi horizons

Thank you. I'll read it myself (it was on my To Be Read Pile) and lend it to her. "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" might be another one to try...

    Broadening someone's sci-fi horizons

Hi, In my Traveller campaign I have a player whose exposure to Science-Fiction has been limited to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm looking for recommendations for DVDs to watch that might broaden those horizons. I'm thinking of Serenity or Firefly but I am open to other suggestions...
