Anyone want to write a review of the Conan RPG?

Very nice review, Thamilon. It appeared to be written towards Conan fans both into and new to RPGs, which is a very good thing in this case!

    Poisons that are not deadly.

I love the book myself, the realism makes it kind of disturbing... it really makes me hope I never come across any of those poisons in real life. :)

    Poisons that are not deadly.

There's an OGL supplement for the D20 Modern system called Toxicant, from Mad Kaiser Games which has alternative (and much more realistic) rules for poison, as well as lots of examples of real-world poisons. Instead of poisons just dealing ability damage, they can have all kinds of fun effects...

    Korgoth of Barbaria

I don't know if Falconer posts on this forum too, but he had some great news on the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures forum: Certainly made MY evening! :D

    Big book little book

By the way, the Pocket edition doesn't contain 80% less material than the Atlantean edition, it contains 20% less (or 80% of the contents of the big book). I use the Atlantean Edition when I GM, and let the players use the Pocket Edition, which is working out fine. :)

Anyone using Conan in their Conan game?

Meanwhile, in MY corner of Hyboria, the players will be helping Xaltotun and Nemedia against that dirty usurper savage King Conan. :) They're off to steal the Heart of Ahriman as we speak, on behest of Orastes and Baron Amalric of Tor; they don't know WHY they have to recover it, though, just...

    Korgoth of Barbaria

Did you like Korgoth of Barbaria? Then let Cartoon Network know! I copied this from Falconer's post on the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures forum: According to various sources, Korgoth of Barbaria was only a pilot episode. Cartoon Network is still pondering whether or not to turn that pilot...

    Order of the Stick

Order of the Stick is fantastic. Pure class, and a must-read for any RPG-geek. You should start reading it from #1, though, as it has an ongoing story, it's not just a series of unrelated strips. :)

Nemedia vs Aquilonia pre-Hour of the Dragon

Traditionally, I'm guilty of leading the players by the hand a little too much (it's a GM flaw I'm well aware of, and I'm trying to improve), but I'm going to leave it up to them whether they want to turn against their own people to save some savage brute they don't know who overthrew the...

Nemedia vs Aquilonia pre-Hour of the Dragon

Notice that I said "fighting FOR the bad guys". The bad guys I was referring to were Xaltotun, Baron Amalric and their little band of merry men. Have no fear, my players have really embraced the whole racism thing, and they have certainly caught on to not having an alignment. They stole some...

Nemedia vs Aquilonia pre-Hour of the Dragon

Yep, that's the plan! I'm very curious as to how the PCs will react to fighting for the "bad guys" in a Conan story, and what they will think when Xaltotun starts unleashing the wrath of Acheron. :)

Nemedia vs Aquilonia pre-Hour of the Dragon

Oooh, that is perfect. I really want my PCs to hate Aquilonia, this should give them plenty of reasons to do that. Thanks!

Nemedia vs Aquilonia pre-Hour of the Dragon

Just before The Hour of the Dragon, what was the relationship between Aquilonia and Nemedia? I know they've been at each others' throats for a long time, but did this change once Conan became king? See, in our next session, my Nemedian PCs need to go to Tarantia to steal the Heart of Ahriman...

When players embrace the Hyborian Age (session report)

I'm really torn here. I originally sold this as a military campaign, and hence the players have designed their characters based on that. I'm worried that they get impatient if I send them on a treasure hunt after the Heart of Ahriman. Although how can you not love going deep into Stygia when...

When players embrace the Hyborian Age (session report)

The explanation is quite simple: I had the Tower of the Elpehant adventure and wanted to include it; I was thinking that starting with a pre-published adventure would make it easier for me to focus on the rules etc, since we haven't played Conan before. Hmm, that works! I think I will go for...
