I'm currently leaning towards a homebrew using the old Questworld maps. Ancient world feel of Runequest, but my own cultures, more human centric, keeping chaos as the enemy maybe even some mythos stuff bleeding over.
Well I for one ended up buying the 2nd the other day and the fact that the Temptress was revamped, something I learned from this thread, was a deciding factor for me.
No, I can tell you Pfuggervile is a real town, they love that “pf” thing there for some reason. A few years back I drove by a fire station there and it was the pfire station.
I for one love the fact that the books have so far stayed pastiche free. I will buy Road of Kings because I know Vincent will stay true to that Howard vision and what he uses from the pastiches will be the gems.

Actually, from what I hear he’ll be doing both new stories and old, sort filling in the missing tales between Howard’s works but retelling Howard’s stories as well. He’s working hard to stay true to Howard’s Conan. Between this and the RPG it’s a good time to be a Conan fan!

The wording is a little confusing but if you read on you see that you can boost the spell power by taking more time staring into your target's eyes, allowing you to affect more hit dice. So it seems 5HD is the default and you can affect up to 16 HD if you spend time to boost the spell. At least...
