I recently started GMing a game of Traveller for a couple of players. To make a long story short, we decided to have them acquire their ship in-session rather than start with it. Unfortunately, I'm a newbie GM and I also suck at beginnings (this post is a great example) and its been rough going...
And an even more devious Ref will offer some seemingly normal missiles for sale cheaply somewhere.
These missiles will inevitably have misaligned tracking systems, suffer premature detonations, duds, etc.
"Arrrghh the cheap ones are worthless!"
I've been using MS paint.
Looking at it, maybe I'm being too generous with Amber codes. Then again I abandoned this subsector and went back to the standard 8x10 anyways.

I rather like the way the system works, it means you can create someone who is a modestly skilled generalist (Such...
Is that what that PBG bit I see next to older version UWP codes is for?
I assumed it meant Planets Belts Gas giants.
What does it mean by Population multiplier?

Granted I only got Traveller less than two weeks ago, but how I think it works is this. You've got your skill [whatever] {specialization} 1. This means your specialization is a +1 DM while the rest count as level 0.
If you get a level up during character gen, you can either pick up another...
And don't forget, TL is just the average of what is available on the planet.
Perhaps their ship-building TL is higher, but everything else suffers for that.
