Who built the road of kings and when?

OR... seeing as this is the somewhat "morally flexible" Conan setting... perhaps raiding the caravans as the Bandits themselves! ;)

    Solid archer build?

One idea to enhance Ranged Finesse so that it is more practical (whether or not you modify it to eliminate the turn spent aiming)... what if, instead of 30 ft, the Ranged Finesse was good out to 1 Range Increment? This means that certain specialty bows (usually wielded by races that specialize...

    Zingaran Languages

I believe the Bonus Languages for Zingarans are: Aquilonian, Argossean, Shemite, Stygian, Kushite, Southern Islander, Black Coast, Ophirean, Pictish & Kothic I can't recall off hand where I read this but I remember the source being reliable (ie. Mongoose canon).

    Missing Saddlebags?

No not the actual "saddles" but rather the "saddlebags". It is a seperate item. The saddlebags are what you use to store items in while the saddle is just the "seat" that you use to sit upon the horse. Of course you can store items in the pack saddle but then you can't use a pack saddle for...

    Missing Saddlebags?

I don't currently own Tito's Trading Post but I find it odd that one would need a separate sourcebook for an item mentioned in the core book in all 3 of the Nomad's starting gear packages. It is a fairly minor point, more of a curiousity than a complaint.

    Missing Saddlebags?

I was recently looking over the equipment packages for the Nomad when I realized that all 3 packages listed "saddlebags". This wasn't surprising as all 3 packages had mounts and saddlebags are natural equipment for mounts. The odd thing was... there's no listing either in the text or in the...

    Raven's Rules for Sorcery v 1.1

Not to worry, according to the HUGE Conan 2nd Ed to use Runequest system thread... we finally got a roundabout reply that seems to insure the continued survival & development of Conan d20. I believe there is a RQ books called Hyborian Adventures coming out that will allow people to run Conan...

    Solid archer build?

I agree about Ranged Finesse, it is pretty much useless unless you have no Strength at all (which is not the case for your PC). According to the write-up, by the time you can even use Ranged Finesse you should have a pretty solid AP anyway (since it will be well within the 1st Range Increment)...

    Farming in Vanaheim and Asgard

Well I assume the Nordheimers must do at least some farming and/or sailing since one of their 3 Racial Skills is either Profession (Farmer) or Profession (Sailor). Of course I can't really see the Aesir being sailors since Asgard as almost no "coast" to speak of, though I suppose the Vanir...

    Temptress

Isn't that what a Temptress specializes in... engendering "high hopes" in others (usually regarding what she can potentially "provide" to them). ;)

    mounted combat

Couldn't you duck a blow or even perhaps use the horse as "cover"? Also you could try a Ride check to see if you can maneuver the horse out of the way (thus taking the rider out of the way of the blow as well). On the other hand, you could use Dodge DV and just apply the usual -2 penalty for a...

How often do PCs "get religion" in your games?

Well there are "game mechanics" benefits to worship. You have Faith which adds a +2 to Wills Saves. There's Atonement which is nice for regaining one's lost Code of Honour (and the Code's benefits). Finally there's Spells available for Scholars who become Priests. Of course not every...

[Rumor] Conan 2nd Ed to use Runequest system?

Sorry to be jumping into this thread/debate kinda late but I'm still relatively new around here. When people talk about the RQ system... is that the system (or something very much like it) that is used by Chaosium for 5th Ed. CoC (not the d20 version obviously)? The one where you have...

    sorcerous healing fitting genre

This reminds me of the video game GTA... only here it might be Grand Theft Aquilonia? I suppose having "healing benefits" might add a whole new dimension to the traditional "whoring" that most adventurers pursue with relish already. ;)

Long Range Archery & Hyrkanians; does it get any play?

Hmm well this is interesting. I admit that if you're in a major war style campaign, then it does get easier to pick your targets out even at long range. I guess most of the scenarios I've been involved were not quite so cut & dry (usually it isn't obvious who one's foes are until they're much...
