It seems a total mismatch to me, Travellers aren’t supposed to be ‘superheroes’. Luckily I don’t have to buy it and can pretend it doesn’t exist. While the idea is that it will introduce more players to the Traveller universe, I don’t see many, if any, 5E players trying real Traveller...

Doesn’t NASA already have mineral maps of the moon on their site? I’m sure I saw them shown in a YouTube video at some point. Edit: ah, I see the site Micheal S shared already has at least some of it.

Good point about Lunar mining. And if we ever get fusion working (haha, I know), He3. See the movie “Moon” (without the cloning). However, dwarf planets like Ceres could possibly be great candidates for mining as well. The next stretch goal is actually what made me think to ask about the mining...

I think the idea was to either process it on orbit (requiring more technology development we don’t yet have) or transfer to capsules and, especially with precious metals, send back down to earth. I’m guessing any plans, especially those made public were just high-level concepts.

I’m guessing it’s strictly a 3I/Atlas type of mission, but a “Rendezvous With Rama” scenario could be cool. I’m sure it’s too sci-fi for what this game is going for though.

Will the game have rules for processes like the Sabatier reaction, zero-G mining and other ISRU?

Just to be clear, I wasn’t complaining about them avoiding real world companies, I don’t really care one way or the other. I just hope they use real world hardware specs, regardless of developer bias toward/against companies/owners. Just in case someone got the wrong impression.

On the positive side, I just watched the YouTube interview and am feeling better about the game overall. I may still have to tweak hardware specs but it doesn’t sound as bad as I previously thought. One unfortunate thing I noticed, both the interviewer’s and Chris Griffen‘s disdain for Elon Musk...

I’m really looking forward to the next Stretch Goal as well. Asteroid and dwarf planet mining is another area I’m greatly interested in.

I wasn’t silent, I was unaware. I do have a life. And I’m fine, thanks, just disappointed at what I’ve seen so far and hoping I’m looking at it wrong. Also hoping the devs will explain to me what I’m missing. I will likely still keep my KS pledge, the question is will I love the game as a whole...

I know I’m sounding more and more negative but I had/have high hopes for this game and want a great one. And the silence from the developers about our concerns is alarming.
