I paired the Hyrams (as mercenary light cruisers) with some Decados destroyers, that I removed part of the engines off of to make them into destroyers.
Rick.
I did some quick measuring, and those dimension are a close match for an ESU Light Cruiser, so I guess I can call the Hyrams maximum massed Light Cruisers after all. Many thanks. :D
No, I've been re-purposing various ships into mercenary ships for Full Thrust. I had 4 Missionary Frigates (Terran Alliance) from Firestorm Armada that I was going to use as Destroyer class mercenary vessels, and needed something larger for Light or Heavy cruiser class ships.
I don't expect...
The Hyram probably won't be a good choice then. Back to the drawing board. :(
Thanks. I may have future questions though if I find something else suitable.
Hi. I have seen various pictures of the ship on a base. I know the bases are approx 2" in diameter. The issue is that I want to substitute the Hyram for a Heavy Cruiser class mercenary ship, and wanted something about the right size (2.5" or so). It's hard to tell the exact size from the...
Hi.
I'm considering using a Decados Hyram Light Carrier for another game, and wanted to know if anyone can measure one for me. I'm interested in length and width (mm or inches is fine). Can anyone help me?
Thank you.
This does work both ways. I buy Full Thrust minis from GZG in the UK, and postage gets pretty heinous as well. I've bought about 60 ships, paid about 73L (x 1.7 for USD)...
I check in once in a while, but by and large, have moved onto other games. Even when ACTA:SF is re-launched, it will be quite a while before I bother playing it again, now that I am into Full Thrust. But I have far too many minis to never come back. But I doubt that I will be buying any more...
I was curious how a 1/2 scale and 1/4 scale base would look alongside a Fed CA, so I scrounged up some household items and took some pictures.
14" Base (1/2 scale), using 9" foam plates, and 2 1/2" foam balls (too large but close):
7" base (1/4 scale), using a substitute body and 1.75"...
Interesting. Planets are way out of scale too, obviously. :D
I can see your point though, but a 2.8" base doesn't have the visual appeal of a larger one. But yes, putting a 6"+ base next to a planet is going to look weird, unless you make the planet much larger than the base. Which will do...
