The ISD's aren't that difficult to monitor if you use a graphical display like the one's used in AoGs Fleet Action rules. They just had a timline with ISD bands for each ship. Just choose a year on the timeline and see which ships are in service that year.....
I find it is more useful to cry "Fire the Wave Motion Gun" and then humm the Star Blazer's theme when you roll. Usually good for a couple crits.
That said, I'll second the "White Star Swarm" method of attack. I find using a Victory makes me more conservative with everything.

I think the biggest problem with responding to this forum is that you are responding to the vocal minority. The people who post here the most are people with well developed notions of how things should be. It is also more "fan-boy" than typical player oriented.
