    British 16 inch guns

The Nelson guns may have been a dissappoinment but that certainly didnt affect the Hood's or the KGV main armament. The Hoods 15"/42 guns were fitted and developed earlier than the 16"/45's and the KGV's had later developed and fitted 14" guns to comply with the Washington Treaty at the time. As...

Extra PL - level name ideas?

Hmm, this idea could be better (damn, i hate it when mine arent   ). So the Iowa and Yamato could be * whilst the H44 and Monty (for eg) could be **. Hmm.... Tee out.

Extra PL - level name ideas?

It really doesnt matter where the level is implemented, it doesnt have to be 'higher' that War. In fact, as i said earlier, there isnt much 'worse' than War, whilst terms such as Escalation and/or Conflict can still be slotted amongst the current PL terminology. And Götterdämmerung is a valid...

Extra PL - level name ideas?

True. Which further highlights that further classification is needed. In the Iowa's case, why would you ever need to choose a NoCar or SoDak? Also, i have also experienced the benefits of the Radar trait and found it to be very powerful. Perhaps a ship with the Radar trait needs to be considered...

Extra PL - level name ideas?

Hi guys, New player (about 2 months) of VaS. I agree that there needs to be another PL to differentiate some classes. Currently there are: Patrol Skirmish Raid Battle War People have been talking about adding another PL above War. Only problem is that there arent many descriptive words 'worse'...

    Historically accurate ??

Speaking about Tuffley and Stargrunt, re the points values debate. He also made Full Thrust, without exception one of the best 'star ship' mini rules out there (exclude the extra races crao, that was where it lost it i believe). And that was points based... And balanced too. Tee out.

    Iowa Vs Kagero

I've never played ACTA -so this rules system that VaS is based on is new to me. As much as the ACTA mechanics work for B5 (so i've been told) and seem to be balanced - for VaS which relies on being 'partly' historical/factual the 'priority level' system clearly shows its flaws. I don't know if...

Demo Report: Battle of the River Plate

Key doesnt necessarily mean largest. :!:  I would say the key Naval Battle of WW2 was the Battle for the Atlantic. My 2 cents. 8)

Release Date and a few other enquiries.

The website now says January as a release date... Grrr, was looking forward to it as my "Xmas present to myself"... So, Matt, or anyone who knows: Is this due to stock limitations, or last minute editing changes..? tee out.

again website update: Aircraft, Hyperdetailing and Z-Plan

That is a very spectacular looking KM 'fleet in being' you have there Agis. I wouldn't even mind losing miserably against that! :) So, you are using 1/2400 ghq/cinc are you? Hmm, i find them way too dear for my tastes - especially as my painting skills are marginal at best... Even...

Release Date and a few other enquiries.

Hi I wonder if there is a exact release date for VaS? I cant find any info about the date on the website, except for the upcoming releases which mentions rather vaguely 'December' Also, the Rulebook and the counter expansion pack: What size are the counters? I will most likely be...

    Which Navy?

Yeah, it was the compass platform. Which is only lightly armoured. Still, it goes to show that she didnt necessarily need to have bigger guns to inflict serious damage. If it wasnt for the threat of torp's in the water, Bismarck and Prinz Eugen wouldve maintained their advantage, as...

What minis are you going to use?

I think that might be the Schleswig-Holstein of the old Deutschland class. That ship fired the first few shots of WW2 - on a Polish port where it was berth. I've got a lot of footage of that incident. It's a very disturbing sequence where the old BB is firing at the harbour, the city and the...
