Shipping on order with in-stock and preorder items

I think all of my orders have been mixed pre-order and in-stock orders. I have always received a big box of the stock items very quickly and the others dribble in as they are printed. I never had an issue with physical orders and give Mongoose and their US partner Studio 2 the highest marks for...

    Interstellar Shipping Question

Matches closely to how I handle it. Most High Ports require inbound traffic, even if transient, to make a stop at the High Port. Most of these ships would not be required to dock, but rather held at a nearby anchorage until they have been inspected, assessed by customs, and cleared to proceed...

    The Borderland

I enjoyed the original Borderland product. I also love Pirates of Drinax. Will the new Borderland book make some attempt to reconcile some issues between to two? One area of concern for me is the interface between the old Kingdom of Drinax and The Borderland. The Trojan Reach book in POD makes...

5th frontier war board game revival?

Ditto. Has anyone noted that the original Battleline version was published in 1977? I wonder what other games were published that year...? ;)

Sounds like Flat Top in space to me :-) https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2529/flat-top

    Artist Interview - Mayday Mayday

Exactly. Looks at Warhammer for example. Instantly recognizable thanks to great artists like John Blanche and sculptors like the Perry brothers.

    Artist Interview - Mayday Mayday

Ditto. I like to see the sigs. I learned about Boris Vallejo, Caldwell, Elmore, Easley, Darlene, Erol Otus and all the other greats from their signatures. If Michelangelo signed the Pieta then surely all artists should be allowed to do the same.

    Florian League Ships

Are there any Florian ship designs in published material (official or fanon)? Any artwork for them? It would be interesting to see how these weird dimorphs design and operate their ships. Especially since they don't exactly come off as an imaginative bunch. A Pirates of Drinax campaign might...

5th frontier war board game revival?

I would argue that today is a golden age for boxed wargames. Look at the GMT website to see how many they currently have and are in the que. Perhaps a partnership between Mongoose, FFE, and GMT (or another wargame company) would be able to produce something that appeals to a wider audience than...

    Imperial Army

Starting a thread on the Imperial Army. I thought Geir's comment in the Marine thread deserved a bit more attention: My vision of the Imperial Army is that it is similar to the c.19th-early 20th century British Army (post Cardwell reforms). A regimental system based on battalions. A regiment...

    Pax Rulin & Glisten

The Trojan Reach book notes that Pax Rulin subsector is actually ruled from Glisten. I am not sure I have seen that noted anywhere else. How is that supposed to work since Pax Rulin has its own duke? IMTU, the subsector is ruled from Pax Rulin. Both the nobility and subsector military command...

    Small Craft and Marines

I tend to think of their organization much along the lines of historical USMC organization. Historically, Marine detachments for ship duty, base security, embassy guards, defense battalions, etc., fall outside the organization of a fixed expeditionary regiment. As a whole, they also represent a...

    Small Craft and Marines

Just a couple of observations of Traveller details I appear to have missed for the past 40+ years: I just recently noticed that many ship classes are missing small auxiliary craft (other than fighters). You would figure all large ships would have at least a couple of gigs, pinnaces, or cutters...

    Small Craft Catalogue: Errata

Very well. 5, 1, and any others I used in the examples are simply short hand for 500%, 100%, etc. Mathematical terminology is not my strong point, but I somehow muddle through. The math works out the same with identical results: 15*125% (for the disadvantage) = 18.75 tons. (15*1.5MCr) - 25% =...

    Small Craft Catalogue: Errata

I maintain that your interpretation regarding how these calculations are made is wrong. Let’s examine a couple of examples from High Guard (update 2022). First a ship with a disadvantage: the Express Boat on page 158. The J-Drive is Jump 4 (increased size). It does not specifically mention...

Any feedback available from Mongoose staff regarding the cost calculation issues mentioned above? Will the latest two publications use a different model than previous publications?

    Small Craft Catalogue: Errata

I have looked at a number of recent ships in recent publications and all appear to support my understanding of cost calculations for customizations. One example being the Tigress in The Imperial Navy. Your initial post did catch many, many errors and I am grateful for that. But it also...

    Small Craft Catalogue: Errata

I suspect the High Guard table should have been printed with x rather than + signs. I can't imagine 600% and 1100% was intentional...the formula is just too odd to be logical.
