Just to let you know the long-awaited Alien Module 4: Zhodani is now in stock, and pre-orders have already left the building!

Dammit Matt... make my decisions harder, why don't ya!

I'm really having problems trying to decide which way to turn... :)

Is there a preview of it?

OK, just seen the "deckplans" for the fighter on the preview and, aside from the large quantity of black (was that intentional?), they're amazing - the full side, front etc views are just what we need... :)

Definitely on my list now...

I would guess that the black is a wash so you cant steal it... but even so, it's not bad looking. The drawings are very nice :D

I agree about the fighter plan in the preview - all ships should be done to this standard. (I'd have liked the black areas to have "pseudotechy" squiggles and stuff instead of solid black, but the black is just fine.)

Mssr Sprange,

How soon before we see it at Mongoose outlets like DTRPG.com? I live in the "sticks" as we refer to the countryside here, and a FLGS doesn't exist within decent driving time (over an hour away).

The Zhodani have left the building, fire at will. Kill the dirty stinkin psions

PS glad to hear it, I'll grab one off Drivethru. You have to know as much as possible about your enemies after all

As soon as this is in my nearest LGS I'm going to go get a copy.

Shouldn't it read "Zhodanie in Stockade"? After all who wants the baddies to run around freely.

YOU DO! :P

Had a Zhodani in our regular campaign for many years. We didn't wig out over having a psion in the group as several of the group were "retired" high end Imperial Intel types who knew the reality behind the Imperial attitudes and included at least one psion in addition to the Zhodani fellow. Never got the whole back story, but gathered that he and they were in sort of a mutual familiarization game. Of course, it meant we got strange looks for travelling with him (ethnic Zhodani aren't unknown in the Marches, but they aren't common), but his trade-off was knowing he had extensive "de-briefing" to face once he went home.

Hilarity ensued. Zhodani sense of humor vs Imperial, ideosyncratic language differences, and his very gradually getting used to the constant low level of "little white lies" in Imperial spech patterns all led to fun times at the table.

Ditto  Has anyone here ran a Zhodani campaign? I hope to do that one day.

I have ran games where they went into Zhodani space, but not games where they actually played Zhodani.

Yes, a long time ago. The setting was a planet in the Outrim Void with a
human population which developed minor psionic abilities, which caused
the Imperium to declare their planet a red zone, so they had to turn to
the Zhodani for help, and the Zhodani secretly sent a team of specialists
to boost the planet's development and to train the inhabitants in the use
of their psionic abilities - and to eliminate the Imperial covert agents on
the planet, of course.

The player characters were agents of CORE, the "Consulary Office of Re-
connaissance and Exploration" (read: another very secret secret service
operating outside of the Consulate), which was somewhat similar to the
SORAG of the Vanguard Reaches, but specialized in more or less covert
operations on low technology worlds (there is a short article about our
CORE in an old issue of the White Dwarf).

If you know the novel "Hard to Be a God" by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky
you probably can imagine the "feel" of the campaign.

Thinking of it, that campaign has changed my view of the Zhodani, since
"my time as a member of CORE" I have a lot more sympathy for them
than for those barbarian braindead Imperials ...

I knew this before you posted it.

I have the book on its way. How long before we can also buy the PDF at Drive Thru RPG?

The usual pattern is the PDF becomes available about a month after the book form.
