While I would rather like to see one myself I am not entirely convinced that it is really a good idea. You can use it as a background for almost any sort of scenario without deviating very far from history (well SF, fantasy and superheroes excepted and even they can make surprisingly comfortable bedfellows) but I do wonder how useful the actual fighting is as a background. Special forces can work for the sort of small group, mission orientated actions that suit RPGs but having the PCs as ordinary grunts might not be great for more than a few quick games. One problem is the tedium of much of their lives combined with the sheer randomness of many causes of death and injury:
-"Artillery strike, Dodge roll to find cover, luck roll to avoid a direct hit, fail and you are dead."
-"You are the crew of an M4, the German gunner makes his attack roll with his KwK 40, hull is penetrated, luck roll to avoid it hitting the ammo, success, now Dodge rolls to get out."
What is dangerous though is the temptation of the dark side, ordinary soldiers are ordinary soldiers in any army, cold, wet, hungry and they would like to go home and the situation of the average heer soldier on the eastern front could make for some roleplaying drama but someone is going to want to be SS and that could get very nasty, very quickly. I do not know about anyone else's players but I find most to be somewhat atrocity prone. Yes, you could do great things, make great drama out of this but it still has so much potential for going pear shaped.
On balance I would say go for it, it should sell quite well, but be careful.
