Sal Dancet seems to be largely a mystery even though she is named as a important character. The adventure book mention her being the one to bring the PCs into the whole campaign and being important in the Ihateai adventure, even though I can’t find mention of her. Is there anything else written about her anywhere?

She has a little write up in the NPC section in the Drinax section at the start of the Trojan Reach book.
She's essentially an NPC Traveller. Smuggler, free trader, information/commodity broker. She has her own Far Trader IMC, and I've used her to deliver messages a few times further out from Drinax, to acquire things for my PC's if they're not sure where else to go (For a very reasonable price...of course). Just as a friendly (mostly) actually useful person on the Floating Palace, not actually on the payroll, but does favours and keeps cosy with Oleb to keep using Drinax as a base.

Dancet seems to have been left to each individual referee's fiat. I use her as CaladanGuard does: a friendly, built-in contact who can relate to and work with the players. She's useful in that she seems to have the trust of Drinax without being too tied into all the machinations and politics of Oleb and his court.
In my campaign, her far trader is the Empress Marava-class ship, Empress Iolanthe. Love those Maravas! Probably my favorite ship in all of Traveller lore.
