So, grab an army, and test your mettle against the best generals from among the super powers!

I got her a hot air balloon ride last year, that would have been great this year! "Yep, bye hon see you in an hour or so".........<Runs> "oh and i'm going to a tourney bye, oh i'm not sure she heard with the roar and take off and all

If i even suggest it i'd have no army left to field, bro. I'm upset also cos the shop is the one chance i get to shop in person with no FLGS down here.

If you'll excuse me i'm off to cry....

Damn....

just got back from a wedding, and find this.

day befor i go to setup glastombury !!!! hmmmmmmmmmm

now how commited am i about making it to the tourney ?

whats the chances of wave 4/5 more like :D lol.

well if i dont make it im seeing derren brown next day so maybe hel hypnotise me into feeling like i havnt missed anything :D

damn you MGP, we realy should resever the touneys for the winter when we players dont have home/festival commitments !

of to see how many points the tourney is befor i decide if im playing or not :D and how much to beg my gf into me going :D

3,500 points! thats a lot of kit,

I currently have...

2x USMC sqds
1x tank
6x Shadows

which is about 1200ish points theres no way that I can muster 3500 points!

Point to make here - you don't need 3500 points of units - only your army list needs it. The actual games are smaller. . .

But if you suffer no losses you might need them all.

One thing MAtt, do the army lists need to conform to the force struvtures in the Advanced Rulebook, it's not explicitly stated in the tourney pack that they do.

Don't feel so bad Rob, money will be an issue for me too, but there are other things to consider when picking an army list.

Once I get the force structure question answered I need to by at least another 1000 points or look at buying upgrades.

Hope the Lynxes will be available on the day.

All I'll say is, everyone, read the tournament pack very carefully and watch the scenario conditions.

money is a problem for me too so i'm trying to play the game with my old airfix models. Just a bit of a problem with soldiers bases but other than that its not too bad. that and raising up my airfix lynx.

John Wall and I have just signed up. I hope the MEA Command and Tank are available before the event otherwise I'm going to struggle with the 3,500 points. I know some will go through losses but you could have a lot of reduced strength sections floating around and the MEA Infantry is cheap!

Could also use confirmation as to if we have to conform to the lists in the book.

Damn,

love the tourney rules, too bad about this annoying body of water in the way.

Hope MGP does a simillar tourney stateside this year, if so I'll be there without fail. Only 800 pts short of 3500 now for my Brits, soon as the germans are out ill be ready!

roughly how much would it cost to amass 3500 points. i realise it differs on the setup but if you made a sensible, rounded army (preferably ETFT) how much would it cost?

You indeed may, here are some email questions I have been pestering Matt with:

> 1) Will Wave 4/5 be available to buy on the day? I'm assuming Waves 1-3
> will, I may need some last minute acquisitions for my army :)

Unlikely.

> 2) Will the armies be limited by the force construction rules in the
> Advanced Rulebook? It is not explicitly stated as such in the tournament
> pack?

Yes, they will be (we'll update the pack).

Matthew

> Will the force construction rules apply to the 3500 point army list, the
> fielded armies or both?

The former only.

Matthew

I suggest posting further queries here for Matt's perusal.

In case you guys missed it, "Stellar Debris" will be used. :)

I sent a note to Matt about that little error and the mention of Fleets, rather than armies. :)

Nezeray
A pond and 3000pts away from the tourney.

I've rattled off a ton of questions to Matt, I hope I don't break him

Here's the answers to some rules questions I asked Matthew:

There will be an update to many of these, but;

>>>When a unit is in cover and reacting to a Charge, do all units reacting
>>>to the Charge get to react before the charging unit rolls it's Close
>>>Combat dice, or only the unit being charged?

Only the one being charged.

>>>Do all rules in the Advanced Rulebook apply? I'm guessing campaign
>>>specific ones don't unless specified (see Favoured Units questions later)

Yes.

>>>Do surviving units get all the perks of being Favoured Units (Free
>>>replacement troops, etc) or just the rolls on the upgrade table?

Just the rolls.

>>>Do more than half the models need to survive to get an upgrade roll?

No.

>>>Do the upgrades get lost if more than half the unit is lost.

No.

>>>Can units be split for fielding, for instance, can I field half of a full
>>>Squad of Infantry if I don't have enough points to field the whole squad?
>>>Does that squad remain split for future games in the tournament? If it
>>>can remerge what happens about favoured unit status?

You can field Fire Teams but otherwise units cannot be intentionally split.

>>>Can losses in units be made up by merging with other units?

No.

>>>Can the SAS swap the gunner's weapon between battles or is it fixed for
>>>the duration of the tournament?

No (it is part of your army list).

>>>If an EFTF force has 2 platoons in it's 3500 point list, and thence 2
>>>Command Squads, can both Command Squads be fielded in the last game if
>>>the EFTF player has less than 2000 points remaining?

Of course.

>>>What forces will be available to buy on the day? Can people who require
>>>certain forces for their army lists place orders in advance to ensure
>>>availability.

Up to wave 3.

>>>What happens to models that tactically withdraw? Do they count towards
>>>the shatter point? Do they gain "Favoured Unit" status?

Yes and no, respectively. Consider them destroyed for the purposes of the
scenario.

> But presumably withdrawn forces are still available to field in later scenarios?

Yes.

>>>All the scenarios used from the Adv Rulebook state that Victory Points
>>>are used, is this ignored in favour of the table in the tourney pack? If
>>>so, the urgency of the mission objectives for each scenario seem much
>>>less significant.

The tournament points table will be changed.

well in campain we are running so far every body is down to near half the starting points while im not evan down 10% yet, so id sugest for onlt 6 games or less have tha ability to be able to feild the full army.

thats easy for me to do, but others arnt so fortunate.

think the campain tourney is a nice idea but maybe a littla ambitious......

id like to have seen a 2k tourney fixed list type.
