Finishing up 2000 pts marauder force(models should have arrived to home by now) and start working with exo-platoon(ditto for those models as well).

Also together with them will come chainmail paint so I can finally finish up painting on those 5 marauders I already have :D

Non-SST wise I also got myself bloodbowl boxed set(finally) so I have 2 BB teams to paint up as well.

We're three players in Belgium, and we have the following going on;
two nearly completed Klendathu campaigns (one scenario each to go).
One Mega-battle in the making; I'm making a 6' x 8' table and building outpost(s) with platform-builder. I'm also planning to make rocky mounds with pieces of bark (found in gardening supplies, ground-covering stuff).
Greetz
L-Bug

Waiting for my lazy bugfriend to glue his stuff together, altho i seriously believ i will play VS forth before that happens,
My MI keep growing tho, feels a little stupid since i still haven't got a game:D

I got the first 1000pts of bugs up and running (still only 5 Warriors and 3 Hoppers are painted, and I guess I'll be repainting them anyway since I can't find a good color scheme...) and there's a local escalation league going on here, so I'll be taking my insects for some games in the near future (my first league battle is tomorrow, keep yer fingers crossed  )

I'm in a bit of the same position as Col_stone as there aren't many gamers in my local area. I've been going nuts with ideas on terrain (go figure) and my time spent on that has even slowed my LAMI, Pathfinders etc. from getting painted up. If that wasn't enough, I'm going to be interested in the Victory at Sea rules that's coming as I'm a major fan of WW2 naval history. Years ago I even scratch-built 1/2400 ships that nobody had made commercially at that time, although a few of them went over to Panzerschiffes in Akron, Ohio to be used as model masters. Panzerschiffes sells them yet today even though I made these like 20 years ago. Now that makes me feel old  . The namesakes were massive ships that were cancelled by the Washington treaty of 1922, but these facts need to find their way over to the VaS area  . Consider this a flagrant attempt at getting sci-fi fans to learn about history, lol (and a commercial for VaS besides, heh). Sorry Matt for going astray. I do plan on rearranging my tiny shop and making room for a permanant 4x6 table (maybe even two!). It's mostly a hobby shop even though the sign outside says "computers" . I love it when computer customers walk in and see my sci-fi stuff piled all around. They usually point and say "what's this stuff?". Since modern computers have been made for a few years incorporating nanotechnology, I don't see any difference between my hobby store stuff and my computer products, heh. It's all science fiction after all! I do have far too much fun at my customer's expense. Even though I'm a hard-core gamer at heart it looks lately that I'll be more of the sci-fi artist until things pick up with local tabletop gaming. BTW, I'm old enough that for most of my life "gaming" was all I called it. Now with computers crowding in the last few decades we have to add "tabletop". Pfftt.

Well I've just ordered 160 Warzone figures for about 7 quid from Prince August and plan on using them as LAMI, or maybe a seperate faction, thats alot of painting though, and having rekindled my love of the afore mentioned system Im thinking of writing up a Warzone/SST hybrid system, since theres things I like from both of their mechanics, and its hard enough convincing people to play anything othertan warhammer round here let alon e two things that arent warhammer....

it feels good to know i'm not alone,,begging, threats, buying 2 extra LotOW-gangs and refusing ppl to play at my table unless they consider modern/SST wargaming has helped me a bit.:)

What makes it worse is ever single game of Warhammer ends with both sides deciding its not worth the hassle and giving up, followed by grumblings on both sides about how the games completly rubbish these days. Infact the only person wh o really enjoys it plays Brettonia and just fields completly broken characters which you're not allowed to look over, entirly capable of smashing units by themselves, sitting in the middle of a unit of 25 knights in lance formation...
Not that I'm bitter or anything :D
Actually I wouldn't mind so much but they don't make any effort to change the rules which they know to be broken...

All of which is why I prefer to stick to the modeling and painting side of the hobby, or at a stretch just sitting round talking about playing lol

So we've got some bugs in our league, and I thought that only MI (+1 skinnie) are involved. My first league battle was exo vs. exo.

I've got chaos army...ever heard about flee charge reaction?
Such army is no threat. Flee, flank charge and 1000 points are mine

Hows fleeing gonna do anything? He'll just come in behind you and wipe the unit out in one turn, smae result.
Besides the army is that scheme repeated five or six times, all you can really do is mop up the peasents to try and make yourself feel better.
I would play undead, ut they destroyed any coolness left in that army when they turned it into freaking vampires and mummies... God I feel old :(
I swear combat in warhgammer used to be about tactical advantage and stuff, now its about two dice rolls, freaking clown shoes...Added to the fact that musicians dont allow you a free reform anymore, just a plus 1 in the event of a draw... oh who cares, I havent enjoyed a game since I was a kid to be honest, I just like the way an army looks on the battle field.

I have alot of respect for anyone who can play with that shambling excuse for a system and enjoy it, its just Im no longer amongst that number...

You know, you should listen to Dargoth on this one. Honestly, he and I hail from Poland, the most wretched hive of cheese and Power Gaming. Believe me, in terms of WFB it's survival of the fittest here, with numerous tactical tricks, army composition combos and shrewdest manouvers developed on daily basis, the kind that make even the Games Development stare blankly asking "Er, did we really write the rules for this?". Believe me, here if your opponent brings a mammoth of 25 Knights to the field he's actually doing you a favour (especially since you mentioned he actually HAD peasensts in his army) - try fighting againts RAF Brets with no peasents whatsoever, formed in 6-9 lances with steroid Paladins/Lords and a bucketload of Pegasi, that's what you get here in central/eastern Europe. Large blocks of steamrollers aren't really scary here, it's the RAF Bretonnia, Skaven Warlock Cabals, Empire College of Magic Artillery and others like those that make you really want to cry and bang your head against a fridge. Suffice to say Poles are able to even cheese away with Chaos Dwarfs, and occasionally Dogs of War

Empire College of Magic Artillery
Never had problems with defeating that.
I played against bret only once in an 3x1500 vs 3x1500 battle and they are strong, they got many strong units which are cheap. But still we've won. For the glory of chaos gods!
And I think that DOW aren't a weak army.

BTW
What with Your leauge battle, have You won?

EDIT; Dang my English

Duh, try fighting 4 Empire Wizards, 3 Cannons, a Steam Tank loaded with a Helblaster and a shedload of Handgunners with an average, fluffy High Elf force (foot prince, some Spearmen, 8 SH, Archers, one chariot, 2 Bolts, 2 Mages, some Swordmasters, Shadow Warriors and a bunch of Eagles) on a completely BARE battlefield. I still have nightmares about it.

At the moment I'm trying to cram all those Warrior Bugs into a huge handbag and actually bring them to the store in one piece :P

2)I'll keep my fingers crossed, good luck!

well, to get it back on topic-i'm taking part in the same league as the other two(just won the first match, it was terribly fun, with a three turn flamer-duel between a M8 and a CHAS)., and i'm also currently preparing mentally for the task of painting a Couguar squad, and a flamberge.i'm also trying to build the Chem-plant and a large hexagon set(s)-damn those innumerable pipes on the kit! :P

Yeap like about quater of players in our country
Hey Don_Silvarro tell us who won.
The topic;
Just done gluing magnets to my exos and one squad of pathfinders, all painted. Waiting for my frien to buy me second squad of pathfinders for my 18'th birthsday = when they'll be avaible in local shop  (asked for them more than a month ago)

Well, basically I lost, 680 to 250. But when playing Bugs vs. Bugs, rather a lot of the game goes into plain luck on those dice rolls.

You know, it's all funny games until you end up playing Bugs vs. Bugs. Hell, if I ever end up playing against another bug player I'm gonna kill myself. Whilst games of Mi vs. Bugs or even MI vs. MI usually play along smoothly, two Arachnids is a nightmare - the moment my opponent stuck his Hoppers and Ripplers in the middle of three swarms of my Workers, my own Hoppers and a nearby Tanker, it stopped being a nice game and started to be really, really exhausting. Say what you will, but handling multiple combats with all those large and unwieldy bug models eating through each other is very challenging, and keeping track of all those charges, counterchargers, alarm screeches, flinches and retaliations nearly made our heads pop.

In retospect, should that last Hopper just lie down dead as it was supposed to (damn insect survived both a pounding from a group of Workers and a Tanker spit), it would probably be a draw - the pesky blighter hovered into my deployment zone on the last turn, deducting a hefty 300pts from my total score. Well, crap. I just hope I won't end up playing against bugs in the near future.
