well what is the point of this part of the forum because are mongoose going to like read this and try and get what we want or is it just to keep our hopes up? i don't mean to sound nasty or anything just curios is all. what i ment to say was if a lot of people say they would want to see a stargate battle game made would they try and do it?

Well we know they do read it. Its just that no matter what people want some projects are not viable. For example Stargate is apparently filled with convoluted legal problems which would need to be sorted. Thats also why its unlikely that they will make Warzone.

Its so they have an idea. They will try if they like it. Its an easy way for them to come up with ideas they may not have thought of. Very smart tactic, if you think about it.

Cheap market research. If you want to know what your fans want in a new game, ask them. Brilliantly simple, but it seems beyond the comprehension of some UK-based miniatures companies...

Bear in mind that you can read more about customer's wishes through more than just the specific example they post on the board.

For example, if there's lots of people asking for a specific gritty sci-fi RPG setting, that means it's worth Mongoose looking at doing some kind of gritty sci-fi RPG - even if it isn't the specific setting that individual posters have requested.

I've always assumed that the Powers That Be are looking more for trends on this board than specific ideas (although once or twice specific ideas have actually been picked up on). To take an easy example: there were requests for a BF2 miniatures game - BF Evo is coming out. It's not got a BF2 logo on it, but it's essentially covering the same genre.

So post what you'd like to see. There's a chance it may actually get made, but a far greater chance that something similar will get made :)

okay, just wanted to know was all
never ment to sound as if i am having a go at mongoose or anything. i like them a lot more than anyother wargamming company at the moment

I sure hope the 'Goose reads this forum. I'm still holding out hope for a Mongoose Resident Evil RPG or miniatures game. 8)

I know that Mongoose does read every suggestion and have looked into the licenses of a few. A lot of the stuff here is taken into consideration.
