What exactly does Vassal do?

Does it roll dice, apply damage, and do everything, or what?

Basically Vassal ACTA mod, allows u to roll dice and move ship counters around a board.
Thats it. Everything else u must do yourself.

Well, it does have spots on each ship, under the properties forthat ship, where you can make notes about crits and keep track of damage and whatnot as well as see the stats for the ships themselves. But you do have to manually calculate damage/crew loss and apply it to the ship icons yourself. It may sound daunting, but it is a fun way to play ACTA if you just want to practice (solitaire mode) or don't have opponents nearby (online).

Could have sworn last time I checked it wasn't - though yeah, looking at the web site appears to be now.

Has it always been free and I've been on crack, or did the owner change the status sometime in the last couple of years?

Is there actually a Gamebox for ACTA in CyberBoard? I haven't found one yet, so I've been working on one of my own...

wouldnt bother tbh, since the Vassal one is already pretty established and very good, but if you want to anyway, we shall see

oh and as far as I know Vassal has always been free

Yeah, but I'm used to Cb now... Anyway, unless someone comes up with a better one, I'll be plugging a way at my own. I've got all the damage and special action counters done and planet and terrain counters. Some civilian ships, Babylon 5 and some Earth fighters are also done. So we'll see.
