What constitutes a "WEAPON SYSTEM" for CBDADG?

Just to clarify:

Using Close Blast Doors Activate Defense Grid says that one may only fire ONE weapon SYSTEM...and that if you only have one to begin with..yur basically outa luck being able to use it at all...

...so for example, if you were to have an older EA Nova it consists strictly of all Plasma Cannons firing in the 4 typical arcs...8 AD each per arc at 12"...ok fine...

Are ALL the Plasma Cannons considered to be ONE WEAPON SYSTEM and therefore if you were to CBDADG with this Nova...you can't fire at all?

(Great-maker, if that's true I really feel for my EA opponent now...I can hear him screaming from here)... :lol:

Or does CBDADG mean you are restricted to firing ONE Plasma Cannon out of one arc? (it says nothing about arcs but my EA opponent and I are debating this issue)

In other words does one define WEAPON SYSTEM by the arc or by the ship as a whole?

Basically each line of the Weapons chart for the ship is a seperate weapon, so in your example the Nova could fire all the AD of a single plasma cannon (i.e., into a single arc).
