Weight of models

At the end of march I'll be off to Finland for 3 week holiday. Since there's very little I need to carry back home for holiday(plenty of clothes there) I figured I might carry as much models as I can there. Better this way than through post(that costs!). However there's max limit on weight I can have on baggage which I don't want to exceed(would probably require me to throw some models into garbage or cancel flight...) so any approximation how much following stuff is going to weight?

5xM8 ape
32xCAP trooppers(including metal bannerbearer)
CHAS
2xM8C bigfoot
2xM9 chickenhawk
8xcougar
6xgrizzly
112xLight armoured trooppers
king tanker
9xripplers(okay answer to this is probably next to nothing :D)
mantis hunter bug
8xcontrol bugs

It's mainly the bigfoots, all those exosuits, all those LAMI'S(!) and king tanker I'm worried about. Plus whatever I can buy before that.

Maybe I'm just worrying over for nothing but I have nightmare of having baggage weight too much.

If anybody can give rough estimation within few kg's where that will weight around all told I would be gratefull.

(oh and that king tanker WON'T travel around as assembled...I'll assemble it once it's safely back home  )

How about this. Got a bathroom scale? Pack them up in the same manner you're going travel with them in, then place it on the scale.

I'd say you got a few pounds of metal there.. especially with the exosuits.

No. And if nothing else helps I'll buy that even if it means buying it just for that purpose and throwing it into garbage after. Just though somebody might have some ROUGH idea what sort of figures we are talking about.

*sighs* Let's go with a base of 5 lbs (No, I won't bother translating that into kilograms).

Your heaviest items, as it stands, are:
1 x King Tanker (by far the heaviest of all the models individually)
2 x M8c Bigfoot (Second heaviest individually)
112 x Light Armoured Troopers ( Mostly due to total numbers, not individual weight)
8 x Cougar Suits
6 x Grizzly Suits

You might be closer to 10 lbs, but that'd be pushing it.

Whack them in a parcel and post them back to yourself - cheaper than overweight baggage. To tell the truth I'd be more worried about their volume in your luggage than their weight.

why are you taking all these models to Finland?? :?

Let's see...I happen to LIVE in Finland  Would that be good enough reason

I'm only studying here(England) for one year so if I don't take these to Finland I will lose all these beatifull models I have bought(these things are cheaper here than in Finland) and painted(well okay arachnid stuff is not painted. Would be nightmare to transport) forever. I think taking them to Finland is preferable to throwing them into trashbin don't you agree?-)

As for posting them: If I can't transport all with me now that's what I'll do but I figured I could take as much as I can back with me now that I'll be visiting Finland for a while. I won't be carrying much of else with me so it's not like I don't have space around. Though probably baggage will fill first before weight limit but I would like to be sure.

If nothing else helps I'll take just bugs with me and leave MI to be mailed back but I would like to get as much as possible with me. If nothing else reduces stuff I need to mail which in turn should make it cheaper.

ok dude, no need to bite, in your first post you simply stated you were going for a 3 week holiday.

kuppis! as I believe they say in Suomi

Actually I was amused by the rather amusing question :D Cheered me up on the otherwise cranky day back then(particulary annoying programming solution just refused to fix. Certainly good laugh your post provided was handy :D).

And I think you mean "kippis". Though guess "kuppis" could be used with cups, as in cup of coffee, rather than with glasses as finnish word for cup happens to be "kuppi"

Kuppis. Got to remember that one
