[WAW] Mines

BUMP means bumping up the thread in the hope it gets seen and answered.

Ahh...

As far as I am concerned; REAR arc!
But again, bear in mind that Matt is in charge of the rules.

Rear or a generic negative armor modifier would be the most logical since you are hitting the weaker areas.

That is the logical assumption but unfortunately is another rule MIA, the problem is as to what values they used in playtesting to get the desired results. If we assume the rear arc is taken and are wrong, would this make mines to effective?

Whenever I wanted the weakest armour during tests I used the rear armour value.

So would we all Agis, but the WAW rules are so incomplete its unbelieveable. And before some one starts blurting that the rules can't cover everything, I would at least expect them to finish a rule they started, it would only take another sentence and add that the mines attack the rear arc of the model for effect.

Seems like there would have been way more playtesting necessary. :x

My hopes are that MC will be covering everything completly.

Or they feel people are smart and mature enough to use common sense for some stuff. Just can't trust people now-a-days. ;)

This, and the clarification on artillery will be added to the Player's Guide next week. However, I would point out that the Player's Guide is not exactly large or full of changes, and that many of the problems you have raised have subsequently proved to be your own mistake, rather than genuine rules issues.

We have never claimed perfection, but the issues are minor and quickly corrected. I have to say, overall, the game is proving very solid.

No problem, but maybe some people would expect a professional set of rules to be useable without making rules assumptions or adding house rules to play them.

The game is very solid and very enjoyable, its just the lack of proofreading has made the product look amateurish.
Sure I've made some errors whilst playing and have brought many problems up but only because the rules are either unclear, missing or changes to BFE rules that I had missed. Why are so many questions being raised by players after just a few games or even just by reading the rules, why wern't these picked up before publication?

There are _always_ questions raised when a new game comes out! However, if you flick through the forums, you will see the majority are answered quickly by other players, rather than requiring any ret-con from us.

Sometimes people just read rules differently - that is the benefit of forums like this!
