I'm interested in running a WARS RPG as a miniature game. Anyone have any experience or advice in this? Thanks.

Not trying to be clever; it's just that I don't know anything about the background and am searching for a decent cyber-noir universe for skirmish games that will permit me to employ a variety of miniatures.

Anyone have any input here?

So I've been looking over other threads and have some questions... Who or what exactly is Decipher? How are they connected to "Wars" and are there any educated guesses on the future of the game? (I'm a TTG not RPG gamer so I'm not familiar with too much in the RPG industry)

Anyone help me understand what's going on? Thanks

WARS started out as a collectible card game by another game company, Decipher Inc. (Decipher also publishes the "Lord of the Rings" and "Star Trek" collectible card games.) Decipher licensed the WARS backstory to Mongoose for the RPG. Both the card game and the RPG are in a holding pattern at the moment (i.e., no future products are scheduled).

I don't play miniatures, so I can't help you there. I know there aren't any official figures or rules for playing WARS with miniatures.

The WARS universe is awesome. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the instant recognition that some other settings have (e.g., Babylon 5 or Starship Troopers).

OK, thank for the info. I have plenty of miniatures and am looking more for a backstory and possibly some rules mechanics for skirmish campaigns. Name-recognition isn't important. "Wars" looked like it might have potential so I'm inquiring.

I've ordered the 3 books from my usual online source and look forward to reading thru them. Appreciate the help.

Books arrived today. Have a full work load so I could only skim thru them. Regardless, I am impressed by the quality, layout, and information. Very well done - It is much appreciated. Thanks.
