Hi guys,

So, if we were to run a tournament here at our offices in February, who would be interested? Or would you like some more time to get familiar with the rules?

Hi Matt,

Depends when in February?

Conception is the first weekend and I will be running a demo of VaS there, otherwise I am free the other Saturdays.

Kind regards

well I've not even picked up the rules yet.. but I'd be up for it give us a rough date and I'll see if i'm about.

Yes I would deffinitely come as long as

a) Swindon not the USA
b) NOT whichever Saturday is closest to Valentines day?
c) My pay pal payment doesn't get eaten by the Mongoos's dog!

PS If my Navwars haven't come by then I may have to use counters. Would it be 5 point raid??

i would be interested if i am off, altho thinking about february i think i may be working weekends that month :(
as far as models in VaS i will be taking the LBH flatpack style fleet as i already have too many models so counters for me on this game.

Matt, you should fly some of your favorite forum regulars (like maybe. . . Soulmage) over there to play in the tournament!

Just avoid 2/21 - 2/27 as I will be in Vegas. :)

Having looked at the calendar its unlikely I could make a whole day. I could probably make an afternoon though just to pop in and see whats going on.

I might be interested, and I have a painted fleet too :) (Though I have not played a game yet, I dont know how effective the fleet is).

Oh, will tourney's be allowing the use of Subs in it?

My Jap and US fleet came in the post from Navwar yesterday, VERY good they are too. They are quite easy to paint so I will have both fleets painted up in time for any tournament, intend to use the Jap fleet, could always bring the US fleet and lend to anyone, it is fairly extensive.

i.e. includes iowas, yorktowns, fletchers and several cruisers.

I personally have not bought any submarines, perhaps it would be easier for a first tournament not to have submarines? I have bought 6 jap and 6 US destroyers though so quite happy sinking subs

As long as I dont get close to your Destroyers, depth charges wont bother me :P

I'd consider joining in if the day's clear...

I've only a very limited fleet ready though, enough to handle the Denmark Strait and River Plate scenarios. Are people interested in scenarios from the book?

What I'd also like to see would be vanilla scenarios with no aircraft (other than spotters) or submarines. Again I'm not sure how interested other people would be with those though.

Having seen the discussions about PL and balance, I don't think anything other than friendly games are viable for VaS. Yamato vs anything other than an Iowa or another Yamato, my money would have to be on the Yamato every time, regardless of what else was in the fleet.

I'll be sticking with historical scenarios, and pick up and play games. Tourneys can't work.
