VaS Table Size using 1/2400 ships.

I'm new to WWII naval gaming and was wondering what size table is necessary to play a medium/large size game of VaS using 1/2400 scale miniatures? I'm trying to determine if I will use 1/2400 GHQ/CinC or 1/6000 hallmark ships.

Thank you,

Joe

The scale makes no difference, as the ship is represented at the models centre.

4 feet square makes a decent game. Large War level games might need anything up to 6 by 8.

I realize this, maybe I should have asked, "At 1/2400 th what size table do you need to have the game look good, and play well?"

I've read that many don't like 1/2400 for fleet engagements because the ships are out of scale with the weapon/movement ranges.

Thank you,

It will certainly be more cost-effective to buy into the 1/6000 scale ships, and that is something to consider as well :D Yes, the smaller ships will "look better" at the smaller size, but some players will need to squint a little more, to be sure. As for me, I'm all set for old-age with my 1/2400 and even 1/1200 collection, lol.

We've been using 1/3000, and they look crowded once they close to torpedo distance, but the game still plays fine.

GHQ 1/2400 ships are too sexy to leave in the box.

1/6000 would look better re the ground scale, but there is more available in 1/2400 and 1/3000, and the toys are so much nicer.

basicly my table size is set by how much room i have so 6x4 is really as big as i can go

So 1:6000 for me simply as they take up less room
