This is more of a "Stat" question than a "Rule" question, but I'll put it here as well as the the regular VAS section just in case...
Are there a fixed number of aircraft in a flight? The specs for the Yorktown and Shokaku carriers work out at about eight planes per flight based on their historical load, but that number doesn't work when applied to other ships. Is there a consistent number per flight, or does it "slide" based on a given aircraft's combat capabilities (or lack thereof)?
