Using MRQ Lankhmar with Legend?

Hi folks,

Has anyone had any experience using MRQ Lankmar with Legend? I'm not entirely clear on any compatibility issues between MRQ (aka RQ 4th ed.) and Legend, so any advice would be appreciated.

I'm proposing to run this at my local club at the next game change so I've been doing some research. The Lankhmar Unleashed (2nd Ed for RQII) book with the errata from MGP will do just fine.

The fluff is good, the book has a rundown of all the Leiber stories to give you the basics of the background if you need it.

There is effectively no difference in the mechanics between RQII and Legend. Legend has some errata included that was published separately for RQII.

If you want to use MRQI then the earlier 2 volume Mongoose Lankhmar will be what you want but Legend is sufficiently different to MRQII that it will be much more work to make it work.

Actually, Mongooses' Lankhmar Unleashed has appropriate rules for both MRQI and MRQII so you'll be fine with that book and the errrata (which mostly covered the MRQII portion).

I've just finished rereading all the Nehwon books to refresh my memory prior to starting running a game.

I did notice that the Rime Island witches use spells not mentioned in the Mongoose books e.g. Light without Heat.

A Quarmallian Death Spell masquerading as an innocuous sleep spell is delivered by a Manchurian candidate style assassin. There is no published spell that can turn someone into an unwitting assassin or one that can cause someone to drop off to sleep and die.

Anyone got any sample stats for these, maybe from material that was cut from either release of the Lankhmar material.

I do wonder if these were missed out as they occur in the final material which is much racier than the earlier published material.
