Anstett
Emperor Mongoose
For any VTT the primary benefit is automation. Sharing maps with tokens on it for the Travellers and all the various modifiers automatically applied. The screenshot looks lovely. Never used such a thing. It looks complex though. In terms of gameplay, what does it offer over people using Zoom that allows maps and so on to be shared?
I have run my games (D&D and now Traveller also) by VTT since 2003. I have players who had never seen a physical D20 until I mailed them one. Players do not need to learn all the modifiers that go into a roll. Set the character sheet up properly and then just play. Sharing materials is also very useful.
I leave my game up 24/7 for the players to log in and read any of the books that I share with them when they want. They can do skill checks, etc.
There are a couple of threads about which VTT is best for what type of game and Referee. Fantasy Grounds is the leader for Traveller because it has the official content. Foundry and Roll20 will be getting more work from the newish VTT team here lead by MadBeardMan. They already have released for Paranoia.
