Traveller 2300 using Traveller 2e Query

Hopeless

Mongoose
So I was wondering if anyone was using this setting with the 2e rules and if so what changes did they make?
Have you switched to the 2e High Guard rules?
Any advice for those of us considering running this with 2e rules?

I find the 2e Highguard rules pretty strait forward, more streamlined, and overall easier to use than the 1e rules.
The ship combat rules are all in one place and so are the design rules. (Except for that High Technology section.)

Here is my quick and dirty conversion ship conversion from 1.0 to 2.0 (Modified for 2300):
1. Just calculate the new hull points using 2e.
2. Keep the same armor values.
3. Convert each weapon to the new values (Or keep the old values if they work well).
4. Use the same rules for shields etc.
5. Keep life support rules the same.
6. Keep the same stutterwarp and maneuver stats the same.
7. Keep the same deck plans. (Doesn't effect combat, only boarding actions.)
The above are just basic ideas. You may have to try/modify them to make it work.

As far as I can tell, using the setting should be no problem.
Traveller is basically Traveller and any settings rules differences should be obvious and strait forward.
Having a generic task system makes this very easy.

I hope this help.
Keep us posted as to how things work out.

The Aerospace Engineer's Handbook (currently in the hot and sweaty hands of the Mongeese) is an updated ship design system built on HG2e.
