Trade Table Questions

On the Freight Traffic modifiers table, "Barren / Current World" modifier is "None" and "Red Zone / Destination World" modifier is "No Freight"

Though not stated, I assume these both mean the same thing, that if this quality shows up there is No Freight Available, no matter the roll or other modifiers?

same table, "High Population / Destination World" just has a hyphen...so...umm...what?

Mail Dice Modifiers

Highest Naval or Scout Rank is used straight up as a modifier...does commission matter? Officers vs. Enlisted?

World has a TL of 5 or less...Destination or Origin? Either? Both? Cumulatitive?

A barren world can still have people and some industry, its just a bit deserty... there will be little to no trade out, but there will still be trade in

A red zone will have absolutely zero trade in, and i bet stuff doesn't move out much. Red zones are usually interdicted in some way, and you best have a damn good reason for going near one.

For naval characters, this is for you to decide, although I would hesitate
to allow a modifier higher than +6. Scout characters created with the co-
re rules have no officer ranks.

Mail is electronically stored data, and on a world of TL 5 or less few per-
sons will have the devices required to read such data. Therefore most
mail to and from such worlds will most probably be freight.

Is "Barren" defined as such in MgT? It's previous definition has always been (iirc) zero population. In which case there would be no trade at all and the "None" would mean no freight, no passengers, no mail, etc., in short, nothing at all.

The way I see the "No Freight" note is just that, there is no freight, but there may well be passengers, mail, speculative cargo, etc., in short, everything except freight.

A lot hinges on the definition of "Barren" in MgT though.
