Torpedo Costs for High Guard

Loz

Mongoose
A few people have questioned the cost of torpedoes for HG, and I've give it some thought today.

Cost for a basic torp is Cr60,000 and a nuke torp Cr90,000.

Hope this helps.

Most excellent!

I assume a bomb-pumped laser torp would be pretty much the same cost as the nuclear torp?

I further assume that the above costs are for the two-shot load that takes up 5 tons space as given in the HG book?

Thank you very much for your reply. Now if we can get that cost of reaction drives for larger ships thing dealt with i can finish the ships Ihave been working on :)

EDIT: should read my PMs before posting. The cost is per missle to a 2 shot load of basic torps costs Cr. 12,000 and a two-shot load of nuclear torps costs Cr. 180,000

No problem. We should have spotted the omission earlier.

The cost is per torp - so a double load will be double the cost (ie Cr120k).

Not to repeat an inquiry I made in a different thread but the cost stated would be for the 'military' grade device; might there be a 'consumer' package for arming non-military vessels, referring to merchants, couriers and other non-fleet ships ?

I think that would need to depend on your particular campaign. If consumer versions of military level weapons are available in your campaign, then introduce what you feel might be an appropriate discount (or surcharge); although I'd imagine that most authorities will embargo such weapons heavily, which would mean that torps are only available on the black market.
