the PLA AA system...

1)-is that PLA air-defense system a radar controled chain gun or is it missles?...

2)-is the system vehicle mounted?...

I do hope it is a chain-gun system that one can also employ against ground troops as well...then again...12 years from now we may have tactical AA missle systems that can be used against vehicles as well...

I don't see a PLA AA model on the upcoming releases. Do you mean the MEA Tunguska? If so it's armed with two 30mm cannon and eight surface to air missiles.

S&P 37 preview:
The PLA will also be receiving a variety of IFVs
and an effective air defence system consisting of
the TY90 missile system mounted on an EQ2050
truck.
The EQ2050 is a Hummer knock off I believe.

thanks for the Google link...would have rather have had a radar controled chain gun system mounted on a 6 wheeled AFV...guess I will pass on this system...

Well, wait until you have 2,000 lb. bombs and Hellfire missiles raining down on your forces - they may change your mind, as that air defence system is _very_ good. . .

apparently the Type 99s smothbore rocket launching gun already has a AA capability...I assume that this will be the case with the Mongoose BFEvo game Type99...I'd rather have a dual purpose weapon system than one that is one mission specific...

Do what?

the type 99s main gun system is able to engage low flying attack helecopters and aircraft at a range up to 5km...

If its anything like Russian gun-launched ATGWs (and I confess I'm no expert) then it proabbly does have such a capability, albeit somewhat by accident.

Regarding "12 years from now we may have tactical AA missle systems that can be used against vehicles as well..." we have them already:
