The Infinity Suite will be the most perfect musical piece in the history... once it is finished. Right now the Travellers are 75 million Credits in debt, being chased by repo crews who want their illegally modified starship back, facing a career-ending plagiarism lawsuit... and the Suite is a musical shambles.

Arriving in the Islands subsectors just ahead of their problems, the Travellers need to make a name for themselves and find the inspiration to finish the Suite. On the way they must deal with the usual rock ‘n’ roll problems – planetary revolution, interstellar conflict, fanatical cultists intent on murdering them, and the odd runaway cow.

Everlasting fame and fabulously huge royalty payments await... so step up to the mic and embark upon a rock ’n’ roll romp through the middle of someone else’s perfectly planned interstellar war.

Inside you will find:
  • Rules for creating the greatest piece of rock music the universe has ever witnessed.
  • A system for music reviews and critics as they tear apart your artistic creations.
  • Bass battles.
  • The ability to build your fame with Megastar points.
  • The Battleship Potemkin.

Great minds. Was going to run this scenario (extracted from a previous campaign) at GENCON last year but couldn't get straight answers from the GM group on scheduling:

  1. Roadshow. This is actually one of my favorite mini-adventures from the old GDW Journal of the Traveller's Aid Society days (JTAS #23). The players go through a maddening series of missed meetings and encounters trying to get to a mysterious job interview (they desperately need cash and don't have a ship). It turns out the job is to work as security/roadies for the mega-rock group "Veedback." The band is touring in support of their latest album (Aurora Gory Alice and the hit single "Dead Vegan Lullaby"). Veedback has the highest LRI (Lost Roadie Index) of any touring group. Chaos ensues with at least a good bar brawl (or two) and then the major crisis (like the band starts a riot that turns into a revolution on a planet after reprising hits from the album "Revolting Veedback" including the singles "Power, Corruption, and Lies" and "Only Our Chains to Lose"). I ran this as a major element of a campaign, so I came up with Album and song titles, etc.

Looking forward to seeing what Infinity Suite has!

So I got The Infinity Suite but wondering if there will be an update showing the ship stats as right now it just talks about what was changed and has a cool map for it but would also like to know the ship features/stats.

I haven't gotten it yet, so I don't know if the High Guard rules for the musical additions were made, but if not, I'd like to see those, too.

I am thinking there were page count issues. Maybe a free download?
It is more... what is the point? Use the CRB Subby for stats, if you need them... but why would you..? The band does not really interact with the ship in that fashion during the campaign (well, other than to trash the interior if they run out of hotels), so it is more of a location rather than a ship.

Was our thinking :)

Thanks, Matt. I have only skimmed the book so far. I can see where it may not be needed, except there are always the ship stats...;)

In thinking about it, I can see where, going into detail, you would need to create a bunch of High Guard entries that are only specific to this adventure. I mean, it never stopped MJD before.

Some of us are Ship nerds and love looking at the stats and take those ideas to other ships.

Given that you have the Touring Ship on page 127 of the Adventure Ships book ("If a group of Travellers becomes very rich and they consider themselves to be the greatest rock band in the galaxy… this is the ship they will build.") this seems like a teensy bit of a missed opportunity. It even has deck plans!

Nothing says a GM can't give the players that. The Subsidised merchant is in the Core book. The GM can run this with just the core and the Infinity suite if needed. Mmmmm. Not sure how that would have impacted page count, to add the Touring Ship instead though.

This surprised me as well at first, but..

Note that I do not yet own the Infinity Suite, but depending on how rich and famous the player band is supposed to be at the beginning of the campaign, perhaps something like the Touring Ship is still considered a future goal for them?

Could be: I've not bought it yet, either. But since I'm sure I remember that the marketing spiel says that they are 75 million credits in debt with an (illegally) highly modified ship, it feels like it should work.

Maybe MJD doesn't have that book?
This did strike me as possible. Much as I love his work on adventures like Islands in the Rift and The Borderland Run, MJD is not always entirely committed to any form of canon outside of his own work (Tezcats being the most egregious example off the top of my head). And in any case, whoever edited it should probably have thought of this tie-in.

The ship is provided. The scenario is that it's actually owned by their record company and due to... events... they ran off with it, setting up a major reason that they need to succeed with creating this high concept album, and why they're in the Island Subsectors and not touring Imperial space.

They are being pursued.

But it's very much a customised ship too, so if the Referee wants to swap it or alter it... no reason not to do that.

(I do take the point about it being nice to have some rules for the concert gear as an installable feature. But someone's bound to complain that that means even more ship rules that aren't in High Guard...)
